Is There A Honkai Star Rail Multiplayer Feature?
Unlike Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai Star Rail doesn’t have a typical multiplayer feature. This means you can’t team up with friends to explore the world or complete missions in real-time. It doesn’t seem like a co-op or multiplayer aspect will be introduced, given that HoYoverse has yet to address it and is reportedly busy preparing an Unreal Engine 5-powered AAA game.
Although lacking in a multiplayer mode, Honkai Star Rail does have a Support Character System. It allows players to borrow a character from their friend’s account for a limited time. The support character is chosen by the holder of the account. For instance, if your friend assigns Jiaoqiu to the support system, you will be able to borrow it for some time.
The support system acts as a ‘link’ between two friends, allowing direct collaboration between players. However, it doesn’t oversimplify the gameplay because the borrowed character is adjusted to the player’s level in Honkai Star Rail.
Does the Support Character System allow crossplay? The answer is yes. The only kind of Honkai Star Rail multiplayer feature, PC players can borrow characters from friends who play on a console or mobile.
How To Set Support Characters In Honkai Star Rail?
Players can set their Support Character on their Honkai Star Rail Trailblazer Profile. Each time your character is used by a friend, you gain Credits, and in some cases, Stellar Jades. The Support Character System is most used in the Calyxes and Caverns of Corrosion challenges. From the character selection screen, before entering a challenge, click on the Support icon on the right side and choose a helper.
Credits can be used for a plethora of upgrades in the gacha game. Meanwhile, Stellar Jades can be used to purchase special passes for limited-time event banners.
