Valve’s much-anticipated MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) hero shooter, Deadlock, has finally been unveiled. The game’s Steam page is live now which revealed that Valve’s next offering is still in its early development stage. Currently, only a limited number of users have access to the MOBA title going on, with only temporary art and experimental gameplay available for playtesting. Although Valve might not be giving away any access to every player, there is still a way to join the playtesting of the hero shooter. Check out our guide on how to get an early access to Valve’s next game, as follows:
How To Access The Playtest Build Of Valve’s Deadlock?
With playtesting having been commenced already, only a low number of users have access to the early development build of the game. Either players can get access from Valve, which seems unlikely, or they can get an invite from a playtester, who already has access to the build. Now, it is hard to find a playtester, but one can keep exploring threads on X or discussions on Reddits to find ideal matches.
The game already has a subreddit by the name of ‘r/DeadlockTheGame,’ which has over 50K members at the time of the writing. Players can access the subreddit at the following link and explore different threads/discussions to find playtesters willing to send an invite:
One can also access the official Steam of the game as follows:
Players can add the playtester on Steam using an invite or code, whereas the latter can invite the former in the game. After the playtest invite has been sent, one will have to wait for a while to receive an email from Steam. They can then access the playtest build with the link provided by Valve and experience the gameplay.

For the uninitiated, Deadlock is a MOBA hero shooter, which was previously leaked in the second half of May 2024, where some X users posted in-game screenshots and gameplay clips. A list of Deadlock’s playable heroes was also leaked later, but Valve didn’t confirm anything. Ultimately, the Counter-Striker developer/publisher unveiled a Steam page at the end of August 2024. According to SteamDB, the game has already peaked at 89,203 concurrent players (on August 25, 2024).
