‘Absolute Doom’ has been the theme for the Marvel-related Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. The season introduced new POIs in the battle royale map such as Castle Doom and Doomstadt and new cosmetics in the Battle Pass, including that of Gwenpool and Doctor Doom. Contributing to the superhero and supervillain theme of Chapter 5 Season 4 is a new limited-time mode (LTM) called Fortnite Day of Doom. The names of the two teams in the LTM include the words ‘Avengers’ and ‘Doom.’
Fortnite Day Of Doom Limited-Time Mode Launch Date
EPIC Games announced that the Fortnite Day of Doom limited-time mode will be available to play from September 17, 2024. Players will be required to install the latest patch to experience the new content. Following a brief server maintenance, update 31.20 is expected to be released at 4 AM ET/ 8 AM GMT/9 AM BST/1:30 PM IST.
The Fortnite developers haven’t revealed the end date and time for the new mode. Judging by the previous LTMs, it could end in a couple of weeks or will be available till the end of Chapter 5 Season 4. The next chapter will roll out in November, introducing Fortnite OG Chapter 2 according to recent leaks.
What Is The Gameplay Like In The Fortnite Day of Doom Mode?
In Fortnite Day of Doom mode, a maximum of 32 players in a lobby will be divided into two teams. They will be assorted in either the ‘Doom’s Henchmen’ or the ‘Allies of the Avengers.’ However, it won’t be a team-based classic shooter mode, as each team will have a specific objective.
Players in Doom’s Henchmen team need to collect six Arcane Artifacts that are scattered on the map. Once they collect each of them, their opponents won’t be able to respawn. They can then eliminate each player in the enemy team to be victorious.
For the Allies of the Avengers team, the goal is to eliminate Doom’s Henchmen and prevent them from collecting the artifacts. The Doom’s Henchmen have a limited number of respawns. Allies of the Avengers win if they eliminate and deplete each of their opponents’ spawns or lives.
How To Play The Day of Doom Mode In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4?
After installing patch 31.20 for Fortnite, players can access the Day of Doom LTM by using the Discover menu. Search for the mode and when it appears, click on Select to load the mode in your lobby. Players can also use the Search while playing Fortnite BR to access the new mode.
Based on the teaser visual, the superheroes and supervillains in Fortnite Day of Doom could have special skills. The loot pool may include the Doom Gauntlets, Iron Man’s Repulsors, and a unique shield for Captain America that blocks bullets.
