However, according to EA, the popular battle royale hero shooter doesn’t support cross-progression, which means players can save progress across different platforms, be it their stats, transactions, collections, or anything else.
However, players can observe cross-progression between Steam and the EA app, as both are available on the same platform, i.e., PC. For the unversed, here’s the list of all platforms/consoles where the title is available:
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X / S
- Xbox One
- Nintendo Switch
- PC (Windows) via the EA app or Steam

For those unaware, cross-play (cross-platform play) is enabled by default, which players can turn off in the system settings. Alternatively, players can use the feature to add friends from different platforms and play in-game matches without any hassle. Here’s how one can add friends in Apex Legends:
- Players must launch the game.
- Head to the Friends menu.
- Tap the Find Friend button.
- One can fill in their friend’s EA Public ID. Players must ensure that their friend’s account is visible and is discoverable with either Email address PSN™ Online ID, Xbox Live® gamertag, or Nintendo Nickname, other than EA Public ID.
- One can send a request, which their friends can accept. After accepting the requests, the changes will reflect in the Friends list.
After adding their friends, one can view their online status alongside the icon of their platform and invite them for a match anytime later.
