Know about changes in Counter-Strike 2
Despite the fact that CS2 runs on the Source 2 engine, which was highly anticipated for Counter-Strike over the past few years, CS2 operates a completely different engine from CS:GO. The developer modified CS:GO’s map with the engine and also added new smoke grenade features and an updated tick rate.
Hopes for the game’s future in North America
Even though it may be a stretch to say that a new engine may save the Counter-Strike scene in NA. It could certainly attract new players to the game as only two North American teams; Team Liquid and Complexity, who are ranked fourth and eighth, respectively are among the top 20 ranking teams on HLTV. Well, there were days in the past when teams from the region dominated the scene. Team Liquid won the second season of the Intel Grand Slam in 2019 after winning a couple of A-tier events in a row. And according to the recent tweet by karrigan, he hopes to see the NA scene “back where it used to be” with the release of CS2 in the summer of 2023.
