Gods in Hades 2 play a vital role in both the story and the gameplay. They drive the narrative forward with their demands and ailments while also providing Boons to the main character. Boons can be chosen by Melinoë after every few dungeons to obtain new skills or enhance the existing ones. The list of Boons has increased, along with the range of stories that one can find in the Underworld and beyond, thanks to the introduction of new Hades 2 gods and the return of some familiar faces like Poseidon and Zeus.
All Hades 2 Gods and Characters
Compared to the first game, there are 22 more Gods and characters in Hades 2. The most notable additions include Chronos, the main antagonist and the father of Zeus, and the God of the Forge named Hephaestus. Hades 1 teased the latter’s introduction in the game in the form of Hammer of Hephaestus, which gave players solid power-ups to keep progressing in the dungeon crawler.

Players can experience a larger world and more dungeons in Hades 2 compared to the first installment. The arrival of legendary monsters and characters like Scylla, Nemesis, and Moros will test a player’s combo creations and reflexes while providing the best roguelike action. Hades 2 Early Access fan reviews did mention that combat is slower than Hades 1 since Melinoë is a witch specializing in mid- and long-range combat.
