This International Women’s day, Loco introduced their new campaign, “She Got Game”, dedicating their streaming platform for an entire day to female streamers. There has been a rise in female players, streamers and game content creators representing women in the gaming industry. According to the Instagram post by Loco, there has been a three times increase in daily active female users.
Moreover, female streamers play more than 46 categories, allowing them to showcase their skills and talents in different gameplays. Let’s look at the growing number of female players and streamers in the Indian gaming industry and how Loco supports their gameplay and journey.
Increase in Female Streamers, Gamers, and Content Creators
With the increasing popularity and numbers of female players and streamers, the Loco statistics suggest that there has been a 2x rise in the number of registrations of female users, as well as a 10x rise in the number of female streamers. Loco supports the improving condition of women in the gaming industry, with 29% of female players considering gaming as a career option.
The stereotypical norms in India regarding female gamers have been degrading and demotivating the confidence of numerous talented female players. However, with consistency and vigour, the female esports players in the gaming industry are setting examples to the world, showcasing their unique skills and talents.
Loco will provide all-female streams on Wednesdays each month
To support the growing female playing industry, Loco started the “She Got Game” campaign and dedicated one Wednesday each month to female streamers. The streaming platform announced this on International Women’s Day, showing its support for female players in the Indian gaming community. Furthermore, on 8th March, Loco dedicated the entire day to female streamers, engaging them with viewers and improving their audience base.
