The strategic move by the Gladiators, to add Danteh to build a strong line-up this season
The Overwatch League is a professional esports league for the popular video game “Overwatch.” The league is entering its sixth season, and many teams are making changes to their rosters by releasing older players and bringing in new younger players. And as per the recent team recruitment announcement, Dante “Danteh” Cruz is all set to join Gladiators, a professional esports team that competes in the Overwatch League.
Danteh joins the team
The Los Angeles Gladiators is a professional Overwatch esports team and recently they announced on Twitter that they signed a new player, Dante “Danteh” Cruz. Danteh is a tank player, meaning he plays a defensive role in the game, and he is experienced, having participated in all five seasons of the Overwatch League. He is also a fan favourite and well-known in the community. Danteh reposted Gladiator’s tweet and replied that there were only a few teams he wanted to join this year and he was fortunate enough to find a home on one of them. He is super excited to focus on playing tank this season and he will do his best to make good results.
Danteh’s career
Danteh had previously spent four seasons as a player for the Houston Outlaws, where he was frequently regarded as a team leader. Before the start of the second season, he was traded from the San Francisco Shock, where he began his Overwatch League career.
Danteh, a well-known DPS player known for his skills on Tracer and adaptability to new heroes, made a change in his career by transitioning to the tank role in Overwatch 2. He first picked up Doomfist, a damage hero in the original game, to assist the Outlaws team. As the season progressed, he expanded his tank hero selection and ultimately became the primary tank player for Houston.
The Gladiators have acquired Danteh as a tank player, indicating that he has likely fully transitioned to playing tank heroes in Overwatch 2. Only damage dealer Kevin “Kevster” Persson and seasoned support Daniel “FunnyAstro” Hathaway will be kept from the 2022 line-up, Los Angeles has already stated. The team also recently acquired another former Outlaw, support player Mun “Lastro” Jung-won, in the previous month. This suggests that the Gladiators are building a new roster for Overwatch 2 and Danteh’s acquisition as a tank player fits into their plans.
Fans anticipation
The Los Angeles Gladiators’ performance will be keenly awaited by the Overwatch League community and fans, especially with the inclusion of seasoned players like Danteh. Many followers are aware of Danteh’s abilities and adaptability and are eager to see how he performs in his new position as a tank player in Overwatch 2. They are also interested in how the team as a whole will perform since they anticipate that Danteh and other seasoned players will change the way the team plays. The Gladiators’ performance versus the league’s other teams and their chances of reaching the playoffs and ultimately winning the title are also topics of interest for fans.
