Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 will end the long-running DLC that started in March 2022. Players are about to experience eight new tracks and get four new playable characters.
The final wave in the Booster Course Pack will be the continuation of Wave 5 which was released in July this year. While the latter debuted Feather Cup and Cherry Cup, there isn’t much information about the Cups in Wave 6.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 Release Date
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 in the Booster Course DLC Pack will be “available this holiday” as per an official trailer dropped by Nintendo America. An official release date wasn’t given to fans but speculations suggest it could be available in the middle of November.
A Reddit user mentioned that there has been roughly a 4-month and 3-day gap between the two waves starting from Wave 3. He estimated the Wave 6 release date to be November 15 while another user commented that it could be much later in December, given that Mario RPG is releasing on Nov. 15.
Fans initially believed that Nintendo may look to capitalize on the Halloween season. However, given that there were no ‘Halloweeny hints’ in the trailer that featured cars zooming in the racecourse, they are definitely aiming for a November or even a December release as speculated.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6: New Characters and Tracks
The following characters will make their debut in Mario Kart 8 following the Wave 6 release:
- Diddy Kong (Mario Kart Double Dash)
- Funky Kong (Mario Kart Wii)
- Pauline (Mario Kart Tour)
- Peachette (New Super Mario Bros)
Except for Funky Kong, who will supposedly fall in the medium or heavyweight category, the rest of the new characters will be in the lightweight category. Funky and Diddy’s return to Mario games has generated massive hype for Mario Kart fans. They can be seen boosting around the race course with Diddy doing a handstand on his scooter while Funky did a pose mid-air.
Each DLC Wave has rewarded fans with eight new tracks. However, only one race course was revealed in the official trailer – the Daisy Circuit from Mario Kart Wii. This could mean that every ‘Star Cup’ course from the Wii game will be available in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6. ‘Koopa Cape’ course became available in Wave 5 so the remaining ones are Maple Treeway and Grumble Volcano.
