About the remastered version
A destroyed ship in orbit near the planet Tallon IV sends out a distress signal to intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran. A lot of investigation led to a ship which is actually a Space Pirate research vehicle where horrifying genetic experiments using the enigmatic Phazon chemical were conducted. At that place, Samus will meet Meta Ridley, the arch-rival whom she pursues to Tallon IV’s surface. She is the only one who can examine the planet’s mysteries and travel through its connected sections to put an end to Phazon’s intergalactic threats.
What led to such a delay?
The productivity of the series began to decline following the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Before the series took another break, Metroid: Other M, a controversial instalment, was released in 2010. Before the series returned to its 2D Metroidvania roots with Metroid: Samus Returns in 2017 and Metroid Dread in 2021, Later, Metroid Dread surpassed all other titles in the franchise in terms of its sales.
Players waiting for Next Metroid Prime Game

It will be interesting to see if Nintendo lives up to these expectations later in the year. The Remastered version will be available on the 22nd of February.
