Video game anime adaptations are nothing new after the likes of Arcane and Cyberpunk Edgerunners taking over their industries by storm. Since Lego movies already exist, it was about time for Minecraft to build on the big screen legacy. Minecraft animated series was recently announced by Netflix so let’s take a look.

Minecraft animated series was recently announced to be in production by Netflix which means we might see its release sometime in the late 2024 period or in the first half of 2025. There’s no trailer yet and we don’t know if this is an official preview image of the show’s look but you can bookmark this post for future updates.

The Story of Minecraft Animated Series
The story of Minecraft animated series is still also unknown. Netflix may go in their own direction and come up with their own survivalist adventure series with new original characters or we may see the canon story of Minecraft unravel with the series ending with the battle against the Ender Dragon.
The genre will likely be survivalist comedy because what else can we expect from the likes of Minecraft. Though, provided it’s well written, the world of Minecraft can be interpreted as either comedy or horror so we’re excited to see which direction Netflix takes this.
