The anime will not focus on Koyomi Araragi’s story this time because he’s graduated and moved on but the girls he’d saved during his high school years have to continue their own story. In that sense, you can call this one a prequel to Araragi’s graduation story but to those girls, this anime is the sequel of their lives after having met and moved on from Araragi.

In a way, this is a spin-off anime that will flesh out and develop the side characters of Monogatari further than they already are. Several key production staff members involved with the original Monogatari anime series will be returning to direct and animate this Monogatari project. You can expect the familiar head tilts and weird angles that fans all love. But while only a few niche fans are looking forward to this, most fans are awaiting the release of Oshi No Ko Season 2.
