New team secures the title after action-packed Grand Finals
Organised by Upthrust Esports, the New State Mobile Survivors Throne Season 3 concluded yesterday 12th February. The tournament was divided into 4 different stages mainly Open Qualifiers, Quarter Finals, League Stage and the Grand Finals and had a prize pool of ₹1,00,000. As you all know, Upthrust Esports began its 2023 season with its popular Survivors Throne tournament. As the tournament began on the 5th of February, a total of 32 teams were seen in action from which a total of 16 made it to the Grand Finals. The Grind is a new team formed by Akshat, Hector, MJ and Sensei. After a total of 20 matches, The Grind emerged as the champions with a total of 194 points.
Overview of the format
As it featured a total of 4 stage formats, it first commenced with the Open Qualifiers, Quarter Finals, League Stage and Grand Finals.
- Open Qualifiers – A total of the top 140 teams registered were seen in this stage, and they were divided into ten groups with 14 teams each. Each of the ten groups played one match, and the top three teams from each group advanced to the tournament’s quarterfinals.
- Quarter Finals – 30 qualified teams were seen with a total of 15 invited teams in this stage. 45 teams then played against each other. They were divided into 3 groups, and the top 3 teams from each group advanced to the League Stage.
- League Stage – 9 teams from the quarterfinals played against the 23 other teams. Which gave a total of 32 teams as they were drawn into 4 groups of 8 teams each. The top 16 teams made it to the Grand Finals.
- Grand Finals – All 16 teams competed against each other and played for a total of 4 days.
Performance of the winning team
The brand-new team The Grind formed by the former BGMI pro players, won the third season of Upthrust Esports organised New State Survivors Throne in their debut. The team included four well-known players: Sensei, Akshat, Hector, and MJ, together they accumulated a total of 194 points in 20 games. With an amazing 40 eliminations, Hector won the MVP award and MJ finished third on the kill list with 30 finishes. Sensi once again displayed his excellent IGLing abilities, and Akshat outperformed the opposition with his consistent performances.
