The latest update begins with the enemy Goliath being destroyed by Pascal. A distress call from the Resistance Camp makes both Pascal and A2 pretty anxious. The narrative then focuses on 9S, who finally reaches the God-Box. There, he finds a final message from 2B in which she admits to having fun with him when they were together. In a fit of misery and anger, he breaks the God-Box and then loses consciousness.
The anime moves to the Resistance Camp, where it’s revealed that one of the Machine children that Lily saved had a virus. Unfortunately, it spread throughout the entire camp before they could do anything. Lily tells Devola and Popola to leave the camp. After that, she and the rest of the healthy fighters destroy all the infected ones before they spread the virus even more.
By the time Pascal and A2 make it to the camp, everyone but Lily is dead. Upon finding out that Lily is also infected, A2 kills her. Pascal is overwhelmed by guilt when he finds that the first child started to kill people because he was tremendously afraid. Due to his despair, he destroys himself and the child within the camp. In the end, A2 and 9S start their journey towards the Tower.
