Upcoming Fights in the One Piece Anime Egghead Island Arc
Eiichiro Oda’s Egghead Island is the first arc in the final saga of One Piece and from the very start key players of the series have clashed and battled for superiority over the seas. Many jaw-dropping defeats and victories have shaken up the community and made things all the more exciting and uncertain. Here’s a list of the few fights fans can expect to see animated soon:
Blackbeard Pirates vs Heart Pirates
The next 2 episodes of the anime- 1093 and 1094 will likely cover Trafalgar Law and his Heart Pirates clashing with Blackbeard- one of the 4 Emperors of the sea. Even though Blackbeard and his crew overpower the Heart Pirates, they don’t go down without a vicious fight. We also see the hidden abilities of Blackbeard’s crew members and how sea battles are conducted as shown by the Heart Pirates. This fight was not only about the survival of the Heart Pirates but also about Blackbeard’s quest for the other Road Poneglyphs held by Kaido and Big Mom.
Kid Pirates vs Red-Haired Shanks
Kidd pulls up with his crew to challenge Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates. Shanks notes how much potential damage Kidd can cause to his crew. Even before Kidd can do anything significant, Shanks quickly humbles the young pirate even though he bears a 3 Billion Berry bounty. This prepares the audience for how strong Shanks is and how none of the rookies are ready to engage him at his level even after defeating Big Mom and Kaido.
Garp vs Blackbeard Pirates & Aokiji
Garp finally lets loose on the Blackbeard pirates in Hachinosu (also known as Pirate Island) after they’ve captured Koby and used him as bait for the Marines to attack. After clashing with the remaining Blackbeard Pirates, he’s finally pushed back by former Admiral Aokiji who now sides with Blackbeard. We also see Koby’s current strength in the story. There are some shocking developments and revelations in this fight and manga fans consider this to be one of the most emotional fights in the series.
Luffy vs Lucci
CP0, the secret World Government organization that answers directly to the Gorosei, are on their way to Egghead Island with some of Vegapunk’s new Pacifistas. It’s led by Lucci and also comprises Stussy and Kaku. The Strawhats have battled Lucci and Kaku before in Enies Lobby so this one’s a rematch of sorts- except this time the Strawhats aren’t the same weak underdogs. Luffy’s Gear 5 humbles an awakened Lucci and Zoro easily fends off Kaku’s sword attacks. This is a comparatively short fight but it showcases just how strong the current Strawhats are.
Sabo vs The Gorosei
While this one may not have been a full-blown battle, it was one of the most important clashes in the history of One Piece. We finally see what went down in the Reverie. Sabo faces off and holds off against the Gorosei’s true forms and survives one of Imu’s direct attacks. After this encounter, he gets the title of the Flame Emperor.

There are a few other fights here and there but these are minor clashes at best and not of great significance. A majority of the other fights also involve newer characters and factions that have not been introduced in the anime yet. At the end of the day, One Piece remains a story-driven narrative where fights take a secondary place and are only used to resolve conflicts built up over a long period.
