One Piece Chapter 1109: Recap
The last chapter- One Piece Chapter 1109 left fans gasping as were put on a time limit where we had to hold off Saturn and Kizaru for 10 minutes while the Vegapunks gave the world time to prepare for his dying broadcast to reveal the truth of the world. We go around to see several key characters and factions in the world preparing their Video Transponder Snails awaiting this announcement.
Meanwhile, Luffy makes pizzas out of Kizaru and Saturn but Saturn is quick to recover and the chapter ends with Saturn summoning the rest of the Gorosei (5 Elders) to Egghead Island, the same way he appeared, through dark flaming magical circles on the floor. You can read more about the last chapter in detail in our One Piece Chapter 1109 highlights article.
One Piece Chapter 1110: Spoilers
According to sources, we finally see the forms and transformations of the 4 remaining Gorosei members. The hall of the Gorosei in the World Government HQ is now empty except for a large black magical circle in the middle. With only 7 minutes remaining to Vegapunk’s message to the world (who’s now apparently sipping tea on the screen), the Gorosei members immediately jump to action after arriving on Egghead.
We already knew Saturn had a Mythical Zoan fruit and while the name of the fruit is still a secret, the chapter openly calls him a Gyuki– a spider-like creature from Japanese folklore. The rest of the Gorosei are also mythical beasts from Japanese folklore- often traditionally called youkai. St. Marcus Mars is named an Itsumade which is a kind of giant eerie bird with draconian and skeletal features. St Warcury is a Houki which is described as a giant boar with 4 tusks. St. V. Nusjuro is a Bakotsu which looks like the skeleton of a horse. Finally, St. Ju Peter is simply a giant “sandworm” and is perhaps the only one with a more popular mythical creature transformation.
V. Nusjuro immediately springs to action by transforming into a hybrid form, locating and quickly eliminating several Pacifistas at once. His powers allow him to freeze the opponents he cuts similar to Brook’s devil fruit. This might hint at a future connection. Meanwhile, Mars flies up and attacks the Labophase but the barrier on it is too strong for him to destroy easily so it holds up against his attacks. St. Ju Peter moves underground aiming to attack Luffy by swallowing him whole by emerging from below- but this attempt is later thwarted by the arrival of the Giants who cut him off and free Luffy.
On the other side, Sanji quickly warns everyone else to quickly get off the island hinting at the grave danger the Gorosei pose. Jinbei upon hearing this comments how Zoro is still busy with Lucci and Sanji retorts how Zoro is being a burden. Upon hearing this snarky comment, Zoro, in a spectacular double-page spread, quickly defeats Lucci with his new Conqueror’s-coated attack. Both Zoro and the Giants from Elbaf use new attacks in this chapter showcasing their growth and overwhelming strength.
