The community manager of Overwatch 2 says that changes are coming for the Sojourn and Mercy duo
Twitter is an excellent place for people to voice their opinions and suggestions. One Overwatch player did the same thing with a recent tweet. In the tweet, the person was complaining about the powerful duo of Sojourn and Mercy.
He starts by saying that facing a Sojourn with a Mercy pocket is “genuinely depressing”. He even says that he has been experiencing it every single game. According to him, the higher rank he gets, the worse it becomes. And, he even said that he will end up uninstalling the game if Season 3 stays like this.
One of the officials related to Overwatch 2, Jodie Grace, the Community Manager of Overwatch 2, replied to this tweet addressing the issue. According to her, the points made in the tweet are quite valid. She stated she is aware that it feels bad right now, especially when it is happening frequently. But, in the last line of the reply, she says that the team will have more to share soon about this and that changes are coming for the powerful duo of Sojourn and Mercy.
Sojourn and Mercy duo in Overwatch 2
Sojourn is a very powerful hero, and has a great impact on the team’s performance in matches. However, her ultimate is even more powerful and deals massive amounts of damage. Now, when such a powerful hero is backed by the healer/damage-booster Mercy, things can get quite out of hand for those against this duo.
The ultimate of Sojourn now deals even more damage, and this powered ultimate decimates the entire team if done right. Not to mention, Mercy can constantly heal Sojourn which makes Sojourn harder to kill.
And, if the enemies decide to target Mercy, then Sojourn will be able to kill those targeting Mercy instead. Overall, this duo has been quite powerful and also considered to be a bit overpowered and broken by some.
Conclusion
As it might have been clear by now, the duo of Sojourn and Mercy is quite powerful. Blizzard has taken note of this. And, now, they are planning on making changes to this duo so that it can be more balanced, and not overpowered. Although we are not yet aware of the changes that will be made, we should get to know more soon, given what Jodie stated in her reply to the player’s tweet.
