Highlights:
* A Palworld PS5 port could be announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2024.
* The annual convention will be held in Chiba from September 26 to September 29.
Palworld is seemingly on its way to PlayStation 5 after impressing gamers with its unique take on survival, RPG, and monster-hunting. Pocketpair’s title had an early access launch on Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S at the beginning of the year. It sold 15 million copies within a month, recording a peak player count of 2,101,867 on Steam, and became one of the most successful games of the year. Given that a Palworld PS5 port appears to be on the horizon, it will be interesting to see if the game’s initial success is replicated after a collaboration with Sony.
Palworld PS5 Port Seemingly Leaked Ahead Of Announcement
According to a recent leak, the Palworld PS5 port could be announced during the Tokyo Game Show. The video game-related trade fair is held annually at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. This year’s event will be held from September 26 to September 29.
As Gematsu pointed out on X, the list of game attendees released by the Computer Entertainment Suppliers’ Association (CESA) shows Palworld. It also shows the platforms on which a video game is available. Point to be noted, the PlayStation 5 column for Palworld had a small circle, potentially confirming an imminent announcement and a future release.
Palworld is still in early access. Thus, the PlayStation launch could be revealed alongside a Version 1.0. The open-world survival game has received multiple patch updates over the past few months, releasing new content and server fixes, while adjusting Pal damage and enhancing the visuals.
Although Pocketpair has been silent about a Palworld PlayStation 5 release, the developers did reveal a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. and Aniplex in July this year. The collaboration aimed to expand and accelerate the multifaceted global development of Palworld.
One of the main reasons for Palworld’s is its interactions with Pals. Players can pet them, use them as weapons, or even butcher them for food. Most notably, they can use some of the Palworld Ground Pals as Mounts and roam Palpagos Island.
