Highlights:
*Pokémon Go Better Together Event will be available for five days.
* Trainers can capture the newly-released Tandemaus, the Couple Pokémon, who evolves into the Family Pokémon.
Pokémon Go Better Together is the first Ultra Unlock Event for this year’s Fest. More Paldean (Gen 9) pocket monsters have made their debut after the release of Wiglett in April. Normal-type Pokémon Tandemaus and its evolved form, Maushold, can be encountered in the latest Timed Research.

During the Pokémon Go Better Together Event, trainers can also complete Field Research tasks or Party Play tasks to encounter Tandemaus. Spread the news of the Pokémon’s appearance and join your friends. Moreover, expect an increase in the number of Diglett, Meowth, and Vulpix appearing in the wild.
Pokémon Go Better Together Timed Research & Rewards
The Better Together time-limited research begins on July 17 and ends on July 22 at 8 PM LT. Trainers simply need to log in to the game and head to the Research section. A Premium Timed Research ‘Grow Together’ can be purchased for $4.99 if trainers need more Tandemaus, Lucky Eggs, and Rare Candies.
The Pokémon Go Better Together Timed Research Event has two Steps. The tasks in both are identical but the reward encounters are different.
Step 1 Of Better Together Research

Pokémon Go Better Together Field Research And Rewards
Event-exclusive Field Research tasks can be acquired after spinning a PokéStop. Rewards vary but it usually results in ‘mon encounters. A Tandemaus encounter is available in all of the research missions.
- Catch 10 Pokémon – Koffing, Combee, or Tandemaus
- Evolve a Pokémon – Slowpoke, Galarian Slowpoke, or Tandemaus
- Power up Pokémon 5 times – Voltorb, Hisuian Voltorb, or Tandemaus
- Power up Pokémon 10 times – Vanillite, Deino, or Tandemaus
- Send 2 Gifts to friends – Darumaka, Galarian Darumaka, or Tandemaus
- Trade a Pokémon – Tandemaus
- Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms – 2 Health Potions, 5 Pokéballs, 500 Stardust, or Tandemaus
Evolving Tandemaus into Maushold requires 50 Tandemaus Candy. Remember to use Pinap Berries before capturing Tandemaus in the wild encounters to increase the Candy yields. Practice Excellent Throws to maximize your chances of capturing after using a Pinap.
Tandemaus also appears in Party Play but the encounter is rare. The best way to farm the Pokémon is by completing Field Research. Unfortunately, a Shiny Tandemaus is yet to be introduced in the AR-based game.
Event Bonuses And Boosted Spawn Rates During Ultra Unlock: Better Together
Trainers can earn an impressive 4X Catch XP and 2X Catch Candy during the ongoing event. The latter bonus stacks with Pinap Berries. Moreover, as custom with most events, friendship levels will increase more quickly by opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together in Raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles.
Till the end of the Pokémon Go Better Together event, the following pocket monsters and their available shiny forms will have boosted spawn rates:
- Binacle
- Combee
- Klink (Rare)
- Magneton (Rare)
- Vulpix
- Alolan Vulpix
- Diglett
- Alolan Diglett
- Meowth
- Alolan Meowth
- Galarian Meowth
- Exeggcute
- Alolan Exeggutor (Rare)
- Wooper
- Paldean Wooper
- Zigzagoon
- Galarian Zigzagoon
Additional highlights of the event include Alolan Grimer and Unown appearing in the 1-Star Raids. Grimer (Alolan) is meta for the Pokémon GO Great League whereas Unown is a rare find. 3-Star Raids will include Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott, and Hisuian Decidueye.
Tandemaus has a maximum CP of 1008 and a minimum CP of 350. Following its evolution, Maushold can be upgraded to 2244 CP. This is below the margin for the Ultra League which means the Normal-type pocket monster isn’t a good pick for PvP.
