Highlights:
* Maushold is a Normal-type Pokémon with moves that provide decent coverage over other types.
* Pokémon Go Maushold best moveset includes Mud Shot Fast Attack, although players can choose Bullet Speed based on what their team needs.
Pokémon Go’s latest Dex entry from Generation 9 is Tandemaus. The Normal-type pocket monster is the highlight of the first Ultra Unlock event ‘Better Together’which features Tandemaus appearing as a Field Research encounter, Timed Research completon reward encounter, and a Party Play objective reward.
Possessing a Max CP of 1008, Tandemaus is not an ideal pick for PvP fights in the Great League. However, its evolved version, Maushold, does have some utility in the 1500-capped CP league. Is it the ideal Normal-type for your team? This guide dives into the details of Maushold’s PvP capabilities.
Pokémon Go Maushold Best Moveset For Trainer Battles
50 Tandemaus Candy is required for its first and last evolution. Trainers can either get a Family of Four or Family of Three Maushold, the latter being rarer in the Scarlet and Violet video game.
The Family Pokémon can learn Mud Shot, Bullet Seed, or Take Down as Fast Attacks. Meanwhile, it can learn Play Rough, Swift, and Crunch as Charged Attacks. There are no changes to its moveset after evolution.
Pokémon Go Maushold best moveset is Mud Shot Fast Attack with Play Rough and Crunch Charged Attacks. The reasons are as follows:
- Mud Shot (Ground-type move) is quicker than Bullet Seed and generates decent energy. It provides coverage over meta Poison, Steel, and Electric Pokémon.
- Play Rough (Fairy-type move) is the only high-damage Charged Attack for Maushold.
- Crunch (Dark-type move) is the ideal Charged Attack for Maushold, who doesn’t have enough bulk to store power for Play Rough and survive. More on that later.
Maushold’s typing means it is only weak to Fighting-type attacks. It will have a hard time against Conkeldurr, Hitmontop, Blaziken, Hariyama, and other meta Fighting-types.
Pokémon Go Maushold PvP Analysis: Great League, Ultra League, & Master League Performance
Despite Maushold’s impressive coverage over different types of Pokémon, possessing Ground-, Grass-, Fairy-, Dark-, and Normal-type moves, it fails to impress in both Great League and Ultra League. The reason is its CP range.
Pokémon Go Maushold PvP Performance In Great League
A perfect IV Maushold has to be capped at Level 26 to get the best performance in the Great League. Possessing a CP of 1474, the Normal-type critter will struggle against the likes of Medicham and Hitmonchan. Swampert can overwhelm it with its Charged Attacks even if Maushold has a Grass-type Fast Attack.
The verdict is that Maushold should be used in special 1500 CP-capped leagues that only permit Normal Pokémon. Otherwise, it doesn’t stand a chance against the meta.
Pokémon Go Maushold PvP Performance In Ultra League
With a Max CP of 2244 at Level 50, Maushold won’t be able to match other metas in Pokémon Go Ultra League such as Cresselia, Shadow Charizard, or Greninja. It can pose problems for Giratina although her quick Charged Attacks will make quick work of the critter.
Pokémon Go Maushold PvP Performance In Master League
You can throw a Maushold at the enemy’s Raquaza for a few laughs.

Tandemaus can be evolved to Maushold for filling one’s Pokedex. Besides that, the pocket monster isn’t of much use in PvP or Raids.
