A recent development has increased the possibility of a new Pokémon multiplayer game. The project, codenamed Synapse, was disclosed as part of the Teraleak that affected Game Freak last month. Synapse was initially thought to be a canceled Pokémon MMO, but clips and images from the hack showed that the massively multiplayer online title in question was actually codenamed Rodeo. Twitter user Centro Leaks has shared some interesting information about Pokémon Synapse, including the type of gameplay one can expect and the developers.
Pokémon Multiplayer Game Gains Credence Following The Launch Of The Pokémon Works Website
Recently, Centro Leaks highlighted in a post that the website for The Pokémon Works is up. It is a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company created from two companies, which includes the latter and Iruka Co. Ltd, as per the official site. The new company aims to develop new Pokémon video games and also improve services like Pokémon HOME.
The Pokémon Works will reportedly be housed in the same building as the ILCA, which is best known for developing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Interestingly, the Centro Leaks account stated that Pokémon Synapse will be a result of a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and ILCA. The Pokémon Works appears to be the link that connects both companies. The subsidiary company could be behind the rumored Pokémon multiplayer game.
The Pokémon Works’ ‘About Us’ section emphasizes that they will “create an experience that makes Pokémon more real and more familiar.” This may pertain to Synapse. Although there is no official news about the title, Centro Leaks clarified that it will be a brand new online multiplayer Pokémon game instead of a remake.
The details of Synapse are a drop in the ocean of Pokémon Game Freak leaks. Earlier, the source codes, concept art, scrapped plans, and more sensitive information were leaked on social media.
What To Expect From Pokémon Synapse?
Pokémon Synapse won’t be an MMO but it is rather said to be an online multiplayer title inspired by Splatoon. It may not involve the shooting action present in the Splatoon franchise but may take elements of it. A previous post by Centro Leaks mentioned that Synapse will include ‘multiplayer’ and will be a ‘battle-focused game.’
Nothing is set in stone thus far. Game Freak allegedly scrapped several plans for Pokémon X and Y leaks. The leaks and rumors about Synapse are encouraging but they must be taken with a grain of salt.
