Three new Pokémon are set to be added to the UNITE roster, namely Armarouge, Darkrai, and Psyduck. The entries were announced after the conclusion of the Pokémon World Championships 2024 in Hawaii, Honolulu. Subsequently, the socials of Pokémon UNITE revealed more details about the pocket monsters while showcasing their gameplay on Aeos Island.
Pokémon UNITE Release Dates Disclosed For Armarouge, Darkrai, and Psyduck
On July 18, Ho-oh became the new addition to the UNITE roster. Succeeding the Mythical Pokémon in the franchise will be another Fire-type. Armarouge is an Attacker who will make its Pokémon UNITE debut on September 12, 2024. Given its category, it will possess low durability but a high attack. One of Armarouge’s moves teased in the official trailer is Armor Cannon.
Contrary to speculations, Darkrai will be released in Pokémon UNITE in October instead of September. The Speedster has an impressive range of abilities, which includes putting opponents to Sleep and dealing increased damage. Shadow Claw and Dark Void are some of the moves that were teased in the trailer. Leaks mention Darkrai’s Ultimate, Worst Nightmare, deals incredible damage due to its high SP ATK stat.
The official Pokémon UNITE release dates also include a Generation I pocket monster. Psyduck is slated to arrive in November 2024. According to the leaked Pokémon UNITE Psyduck moveset, the Water-type will be a Supporter whose Ultimate ability can decrease the damage of opponents. Trainers would be able to switch between long-ranged Water and Electric attacks.
As per the trailer, Psyduck’s psychic beams have AoE and it could also use Surf to increase the movement of teammates momentarily. A Water-type Pokémon and Surf ability go hand-in-hand.
The exact Pokémon UNITE release dates for Darkrai and Psyduck were not disclosed. Although, they are most likely to debut a week in a new Ranked season.
Apart from the new releases, it was also announced after the World Championships that Pokémon UNITE would get a new game mode next year. The action will be the same as the 5v5 MOBA but the teams will need to get 500 points to be victorious.
