Recently, Revenant Esports announced a major addition to its BGMI line-up in the form of pro, Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh. The key announcement came a few days ahead of the start of The Grind stage of BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series) 2024. At Revenant, Punkk will join Sensei and Fierce, his former teammates from Team XO.
Revenant Esports’ New Joinee, Punkk, Has Previously Played For Velocity, Reckoning And Team XO
Before joining Revenant, Punkk has been associated with organizations like Velocity Gaming, Reckoning Esports, and Team XO. During his years-long career, Ashutosh has been a PUBG Mobile / BGMI professional player.
After a ban on BGMI in July 2022, he switched to playing New State Mobile (formerly PUBG: New State). Punkk was briefly a part of New State Mobile rosters for Team XO and Genesis Esports, but returned to BGMI esports scene, post its unban.
On joining Revenant and playing besides his former teammates from Team XO, Punkk showcased his excitement for the reunion, as he was quoted saying,
“I am very excited to be a part of Revenant Esports and reunite with my old friends Sensei and Fierce. I think all of us have a deep understanding of our respective play styles in the game. With our collective experience and synergy, combined with the prowess of Aquanox and Blaze, we will be able to leave a strong mark on the tournament.”
Current Revenant’s BGMI Roster
After Punkk’s addition, Revenant’s current roster features the following Battlegrounds Mobile India professional players:
- Deepak “Sensei” Negi
- Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh
- Harsh “Aquanox” Rao
- Hamza “Blaze” Khozema Hyderabadwala
- Ritesh “Fierce” Nawandar
Sensei and Fierce have been associated with Revenant since April 2023 and were the part of the squad that finished at 7th place at BGIS 2023. Aquanox and Blaze joined the team in January 2024, after leaving Gods Reign. Currently, Sensei is playing the role of in-game leader for the team and will likely continue to do so during BGIS 2024.
When Will BGIS 2024 Start?
BGIS 2024 is commencing with The Grind stage on April 4, 2024. It will feature 256 invited teams. At the same time, an in-game qualifier stage will also happen throughout April for the rookie teams.
