We have great news for the Sakamoto Days manga fans. The latest trailer of the upcoming anime, produced by TMS Entertainment, was just released. Not only do we have a concrete release date for the first season of the show, but also the release window for season 2. You will be glad to know that both of the seasons are coming out next year.
Sakamoto Days Season 1 Release Date And Trailer
The first season of the series is coming out on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Following the initial episode, the show will be released weekly on Netflix. The latest trailer by Netflix revealed that not only Shin, Heisuke, Nagumo, and Lu, but also Hard Boiled, and Order members such as Osaragi and Shishibe will also make an appearance this season. Along with that, we also got a glimpse of the opening theme song ‘Hashire SAKAMOTO’ performed by Vaundy.
Along with the preview video, fans also got a cool new illustration that revealed the release window for the second part of the show. According to the announcement, Sakamoto Days season 2 will come out in July 2025, although the final release date hasn’t been disclosed yet. The new visual included Sakamoto, his wife and daughter, Shin, Lu, Heisuke, and Nagumo. On the other hand, the trailer gave us a brief look at the life of Taro Sakamoto, a retired legendary assassin and convenience store owner. From its looks, the anime will be filled to the brim with breathtaking action scenes and comedic relief.
What Is Sakamoto Days About?
Based on Yuto Suzuki’s popular manga series, the story of Sakamoto Days revolves around a man named Taro Sakamoto, who is more than what meets the eye. After meeting a beautiful woman named Ai, Sakamoto left his life as an assassin behind to open a convenience store and live a peaceful life. Not only did he become a diligent husband and father, but he also gained a lot of weight. Unfortunately, his past doesn’t seem to want to let go of him as random assassins turn up at his store to take him down. Fans can read the manga right now on the Viz Media and Manga Plus websites, as well as on the Manga Plus mobile app.
With the help of some new friends, Sakamoto starts taking down enemies that threaten his peace. The protagonist Taro Sakamoto will be voiced by Tomozaku Sugita. Other actors joining the cast are Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura, Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang, Nao Toyoma as Aoi Sakamoto, Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto, Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo, and Miyari Nemoto as Piisuke. According to newer announcements, Natsuki Hanae will voice Yoichi Nagumo, Taku Yashira will voice Shishiba and Saori Hayami will voice Osaragi. Produced by TMX Entertainment, the anime will be available exclusively on Netflix worldwide.
