Seven Deadly Sins Origin is an open-world action RPG by Netmarble FNC which has been in production since 2022. Fans claim it would be similar to the Genshin Impact experience with characters possessing different abilities for defeating monsters in a richly-detailed environment. Although the game was suspected for a release this year, the wait is unfortunately going to be longer.
Official Update On The Seven Deadly Sins Origin Release Date
Netmarble hasn’t fixed a Seven Deadly Sins Origin release date but the studio did disclose the launch window for the upcoming title. According to a conference call details, dated August 8, Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sik stated that the team plans to release the game in the “second quarter of 2025.” The report also mentioned that the marketing may begin in the first quarter of the new year.
According to the report, CEO Kwon Young-sik revealed more details about the Seven Deadly Sins Origin release date after announcing Netmarble’s second-quarter earnings.
“We are preparing for the launch of Seven Deadly Sins Origin around the end of the second quarter of 2025… I think we will probably start marketing from the first half of 2025.”
Formerly, Netmarble’s upcoming open-world RPG was believed to be slated for 2024. Multiple trailers were dropped for Seven Deadly Sins Origin, the most recent being revealed at the G-Star event that was held in Busan, South Korea.
Based on the latest news, the official Seven Deadly Sins Origin launch window is April to June 2025. The marketing for the game will begin in the preceding years. CEO Kwon Young-sik listed SDS Origin as one of the major titles in their pipeline while the latest one to be revealed is Solo Leveling Arise.
Seven Deadly Sins Origin Platforms: PlayStation 5 Release Confirmed
“Netmarble will do PC and mobile marketing solely” according to details from the conference call. However, Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sik also revealed that they “plan to collaborate with Sony” to release the game on the PlayStation Store.
Seven Deadly Sins Origin will be available on PC and mobiles after its global launch. If Netmarble is successful in their planned negotiations with Sony, the game will be launched on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 (seemingly via backwards compatibility). There is no news on whether the game will arrive on Xbox consoles, though.
Interestingly, SDS Origin will include crossplay. It is also suspected to be a free-to-play title similar to The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross by Netmarble. Due to its potential F2P aspect and multitude of characters, we may even see a gacha system.
