* A recent leak revealed a Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid could be released for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet this December.
* Rayquaza has access to Dragon, Fire, and even Electric-type moves. Meanwhile, its Ability can negate any weather changes.
The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids feature several massive Pokémon, including Dragonite and Snorlax. Rayquaza could be the next gigantic addition to the raids. The dragon debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire but played a larger role in Pokémon Emerald. Last year, Niantic introduced its Mega form during the Pokémon GO Fest. Rayquaza’s shiny variant is available in the augmented reality game and it seems the same might be available in Pokémon SV.
Japanese Leaflet Reveals Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid For Pokémon SV
Rayquaza can be captured in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet although it requires a special ‘treat’ to summon the dragon. Moreover, players cannot repeatedly encounter the Pokémon. This may change soon because Shiny Rayquaza is appearing in a 7-star Tera Raid based on recent news by Serebii.net.
According to the Pokémon games-related website, a special Mythical distribution campaign has begun in Japan, which will feature Deoxys, Keldeo, and Zarude. The distribution campaign will run from November 22 to April 30, 2025, as per a leaflet. Interestingly, the leaflet also shows that a global Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid Battle event is scheduled for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The Rayquaza raid will be part of the Mythical distribution event although an official confirmation from The Pokémon Company is pending. Given that it is rumored to be a 7-star Tera Raid, Trainers primarily need to unlock the 6-star raids in Scarlet and Violet games. They can also prepare for the upcoming battle by upgrading their Fairy and Ice-types as they are super effective against Rayquaza.
Rumored Rayquaza Tera Raid Release Date For Scarlet and Violet
According to the Serebii website, the Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event will be available from December 20, 2024, to January 6, 2025. It will follow the usual three-week duration for raids in the Scarlet and Violet games. The Pokémon Company may disclose the Tera Raid details at the beginning of December, giving Trainers a big event that spans from Christmas till the New Year.
Rayquaza can learn Dragon Ascent, Outrage, Extreme Speed, and Dragon Dance. It also has access to moves with varied coverage such as Flamethrower (Fire), Thunderbolt (Electric), and Ice Beam (Ice). With its Ability, Air Lock, it can nullify any changes in the weather. All things considered, the emerald dragon will be a challenge for Trainers, especially if it is indeed a 7-star raid boss.
