Silent Hill Ascension is yet another effort by Konami Entertainment to bank on the Halloween season. Based on the popular supernatural horror franchise, the game will be exclusively available to Android and IOS devices for the first time ever.
Unlike the console game ‘Silent Hill f’, which is seemingly a sequel, Silent Hill Ascension will script a storyline of its own. The supposed choice-based game will allow players to make their own endings and twist the narrative as they desire.
Silent Hill Ascension Release Date & Pre-Orders
According to the official website of Silent Hill Ascension, the psychological horror game will be released on October 31, 2023. The Halloween premiere will set the tone for the brand-new title. Developers Behaviour Interactive, GENVID, and Robot Entertainment partnered with Konami to bring the beloved Silent Hill franchise to mobile.
Back in 2015, Konami President Hideki Hayakawa disclosed that they are planning to “pursue mobile games aggressively” given the fact that “mobile is where the future of gaming lies.” He also insisted on the need for more features in mobile games rather than microtransactions. The creators of ‘eFootball’, ‘Yu-Gi-Oh’, and ‘Castlevania’ are now looking forward to expanding the Silent Hill franchise on smaller devices.
Silent Hill Ascension is available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store and the Apple Store. The game will be free but could include microtransactions that allow players to get an edge in the story.
Silent Hill Ascension Features & Official Trailer
There have been no leaks for Silent Hill Ascension since most of the information has been revealed by the developers. During the official premiere date reveal, GENVID CEO Jacob Navok told fans what to expect from the game, which is going to be a hybrid of a streaming show and video game with player choices.
Every day at 9 PM EST / 6 PM Pacific Time, GENVID will air new scenes in Silent Hill Ascension. The whole story will be unveiled in six months. This could get a bit annoying for those players who want to speedrun the whole story. Nonetheless, players have a chance to make their own ‘horror series’ by participating in each day of the game, which is actually a whole ‘episode’ in the Silent Hill Ascension saga.
The official trailer of Silent Hill Ascension made it clear that blood, gore, and mutilation will be dominant themes. Giant-size monsters, creatures with serpentine fangs, and many other obstacles will need to be either neutralized or avoided by players to finish the game. The game will also include puzzles and events that give special rewards upon completion.
Please note that the upcoming Silent Hill game contains mature themes. As such, players above the age of 17 and older can pre-register. It is also an interactive streaming series so the player base can influence the game decisions via votes or multiplayer events. Whether or not other players can hop onto your game to witness your gameplay hasn’t been answered yet.
