Skyesports gaming CMO Gnana Shekar on Empowering Women players
This year the India Gaming Show 2023, held in New Delhi, witnessed new heights in the gaming industry in India. It hosted the first all-female Valorant LAN, organised by Skyesports and Windows 11. Fifteen female players showcased their skills and talents in the game, with one team, Grace Esports, winning the Valorant tournament. The CMO of Skyesports gaming, Gnana Shekar, expressed his views on empowering female players during the India Gaming Show 2023.
According to the gaming CMO, there is no skill gap between male and female players in India, as it is about identifying and empowering talented players. He explains how esports is not a male dominant gaming industry, and one should not keep thinking of it as just male players. India Gaming Show 2023 hosted the first all-female esports LAN, allowing female players to play in a competitive tournament. It showcased talents from different teams, including the winners of the Valorant LAN Grace Esports, followed by Balak Paneer and Oni Claws. All 15 female players had a unique and attractive gaming style, providing a fantastic experience for the audience and the community.
Skyesports gaming CMO Gnana Shekar pointed out his interest in empowering female players throughout the country. His views expressed how the fifteen female players were far better than more than 500 players that play at home. Shekar wants to identify and bring forward female players in the country, providing them with a powerful platform to showcase their skills and talents among the gaming community. Moreover, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu also attended the IGS 2023 event, showing her support on the first all-female Valorant LAN hosted during the show.
Increasing female players throughout the globe
According to numerous reports, 41.9% of players in the United States are female. The female gaming community is increasing at a rapid rate throughout the world. China is the leading country with the majority of female players, which stands at 308 million. Southeast Asia follows the maximum number of female players, around 100 million. With an increasing number of female players, the esports industry now contains both male and female players in a competitive setting. Therefore, the thoughts expressed by Gnana Shekar will help identify and empower female players in India, blooming and enhancing the overall gaming industry.
