Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 29 Recap
Ammut can’t enter the Shadow Dungeon as the chains tighten around him every time he has thought about leaving the current dungeon. Suho says that he and Esil will defeat the Boss Monster of the dungeon, which will cause it to collapse. Baru will then help Ammut through the Shadow Dungeon’s gate. When Suho says that he also has a backup plan in case this fails, Ammut says that anything is better than him being trapped here. Suho then takes on the massive monster Shika, but the protagonist can’t get close to him because of the sand.
Suho realizes that his mana will run out if he keeps fighting Shika alone, and asks Esil to use her Bond Skill. The charging rate of the Bond Skill increases when she kills monsters. She uses all the power she gained from goblin slaying. Suho uses her energy to land a fatal blow on Shika, finally defeating it. As the dungeon starts to collapse, the chains binding Ammut to the building also come off. Beru asks the demon to follow him to meet up with the Young Monarch Suho. Ammut remembers how Tarnak and the Spellcaster constantly conducted experiments on him.
The torture got to a point where Ammut plucked out his own eyes and learned to enjoy the pain. During that time, the only thing that kept him going was his desire to feel nature on his skin again. However, as he tries to leave, the stakes of the chains start attacking him, causing him to falter. He realizes that Tarnak never wanted him to leave the dungeon, even if it resulted in his death. Thankfully, he and Suho together clear the chains and enter the Shadow Dungeon. As the protagonist gains Ammut as a teammate, Yoo Jinho calls Jincheol to help him find his nephew who’s stuck in a dungeon.

The next issue will likely focus on what rewards Suho has gathered after defeating the Dungeon Boss and successfully freeing Ammut. As the Heir of the Iron Body is now Suho’s teammate, the protagonist will grow exponentially stronger. The group will likely rest in the Shadow Dungeon after such a devastating battle. Yoo Jinho’s call will likely cause Jincheol to move his forces and try to save Suho from the dungeon. Since Jincheol has knowledge about the previous world from Jinwoo, it would be interesting to see how he handles this situation.
