*Fans hope to see more characters appear on the protagonist’s side.
The first 13 chapters of the Solo Leveling Ragnarok manhwa just came out on Kakaopage. The new manhwa is a spinoff of the popular title Solo Leveling, which even received an anime adaptation recently. Solo Leveling Ragnarok revolves around Sung Jinwoo’s son Sung Suho, who has the same powers as his father. Now that his abilities have been unlocked, he is powering up at light speed.

What Did The First 13 Chapters Of Solo Leveling Ragnarok Reveal?
The new manhwa begins by showing readers how Sung Suho’s powers were locked by his father in his childhood. However, now that the Itarim or Outer Gods are threatening the earth, Sung Jinwoo needs his son by his side to protect everyone. That is why he sends his loyal shadow soldier Beru to help Suho remember everything and start leveling up. Upon meeting Beru, Suho understands what’s at stake and begins to power up by going to several dungeons and killing monsters.
Fans were a little disappointed to find how fast the manhwa is moving as it lacks a lot of the details from the web novel. One of the main events that took place in the manhwa is Suho’s new ‘Companion’ power, something his father did not have. Much like Jinwoo, who is the Shadow Monarch, Suho can also raise monsters from the dead and recruit them as his shadow soldiers. However, in the 13th chapter, we find that Suho will also be able to collect Companions, who are essentially the descendants of the other Monarchs his father had killed. Right now, he has recruited the Fang Monarch’s descendant as the companion. This allowed him to blend with the creature and assume a more formidable form to defeat his powerful enemy.
Solo Leveling Ragnarok Is Not As Good As The Original
Despite having the same level-up plotline, fans feel that the Solo Leveling Ragnarok manhwa is lacking in some respects. The original Solo Leveling web novel was written by Chugong while Jang Sung-Rak illustrated the manhwa adaptation. However, the Solo Leveling Ragnarok web novel is written by Daul. Fans who have read the novel series were really excited about the manhwa but feel that the story has been rushed a lot. Apparently, there was a lot of worldbuilding that has been left out of the manhwa adaptation. This makes it hard for people to connect with Suho the way they had connected with Jinwoo from Solo Leveling.

Readers are, however, really happy about the amazing art style that elevated the overall experience of the action sequences. Beru, who was one of the most popular shadow soldiers from the original manhwa, is also one of the central characters of Ragnarok. Fans were glad to see him guiding Suho through all the difficulties he’s facing while adjusting to the system and his power-ups. Suho’s new ability to recruit the descendants of Monarch’s as Companions, something his father couldn’t do, also made people interested in what’s to come. Although the first few chapters of the manhwa fell a little flat in terms of building anticipation, the final update more than made up for it. Readers are eagerly waiting to see what Suho does next with his newfound powers.
