A next-gen exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 will be the much-anticipated addition to the Spidey series developed by Insomniac Games. The superhero/action game is going to feature Miles Morales and Peter Parker nine months after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) while continuing some of the storylines from Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018).
Excitement is sky-high for the upcoming game. Its predecessors have sold more than 33 million copies till June last year, according to IGN. Marvel’s Spider-Man was the top-selling video game for three weeks while Miles Morales was the best-selling hard copy PlayStation 5 launch game in the United Kingdom. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is riding on a lot of expectations and it seems that it won’t disappoint.

Spider-Man 2 PS5 Release Date & Story
A sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and a follow-up to the Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2 PS5 game will be released on October 20, 2023. The date was announced during the Summer Game Fest in June with creative director Bryan Intihar stating that they are positive that the game will debut without any delay.
The announcement was followed by a story trailer. A troubled Harry Osborne, sitting beside Peter, asked him to join in the fight to “heal the world.” This foreshadows the ‘dark’ narrative Marvel’s Bill Rosemann spoke about during the game’s official launch. The trailer also features Peter Parker struggling with his mortgage along with the Venom-symbiote that has hosted in its body.
Mary Jane will play an important role in calming down the aggressive tendencies of the symbiote Peter Parker. Meanwhile, Miles Morales, who earlier was concerned about putting up with homework, will need to put up with his friend and stop his carnage. Will Venom take control of Harry Osborne – the OG host of the symbiote from Marvel Comics? That question wasn’t answered by the trailer.
However, we do have a clear idea about the villains in Marvel’s Spider-Man PS5. Venom will be joined by Kraven The Hunter and Lizard in destroying New York City.
Spider-Man 2 PS5 Pre-orders & Features
According to a blog post by PlayStation, players will have the option to wear 65 different suits, the most fashionable ones being the Red Spectre Suit, Agimat Suit, and Aurantia Suit which are part of the Deluxe Edition of the game. More information was revealed about each Spider-Man’s uniqueness: “Pete’s new Symbiote powers and Spider-Arms are aggressive and relentless; meanwhile, Miles brings an electrifying and thunderous quality to his bioelectric venom power, as well as Evolved venom abilities.”
Pre-orders for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 have begun. While the Standard Edition is available for $69.99 and contains the base game, the Deluxe Edition is available for $79.99. the latter contains five suits for Miles Morales and Peter Parker, respectively, 2 Skill Points, and photo mode and pre-order incentives.
Similar to the previous games, side-missions are based on obtaining collectibles dispersed throughout the game’s open-world sandbox. The player can switch between Parker and Morales as needed. New gadgets and abilities can be unlocked once the story progresses. Beta testers have given positive responses to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 so far with Geoff Keigley and HollowPoiint believing the hype of the game.
