Indus, a made-in-India battle royale game, is coming to Fortnite. For the unversed, it was developed by a two-woman team at SuperGaming, a leading studio based in India. Indus will be available as a playable mode in Fortnite’s Creator Mode for PC and macOS users.
The announcement was made at the India Game Developer Conference 2023 in Hyderabad, where the devs also showcased its unique gameplay, map, modes, and more. Interestingly, it was developed using developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Editor for Fortnite within 27 days.

Upon the launch of the game in Fortnite’s Creator Mode, Christelle D’cruz, co-founder at SuperGaming, shared her thoughts, as she was quoted saying,
“We learned, built, and created Indus with UEFN in about 27 days with no prior Unreal experience. This will allow us to test Indus’ gameplay with external audiences faster and give more gamers a chance to experience Indo-Futurism through their game of choice — Fortnite.”
The made-in-India is set to launch its Closed Beta for mobile devices later this year, but PC and macOS users will get a chance to try it out first in Fortnite. The game features a novel win condition called Cosmium, which requires players to capture and secure a rare resource that spawns on the map. Indus also boasts of diverse and immersive environments that reflect the rich culture and heritage of India.

SuperGaming is inviting players to share their feedback and suggestions on Indus as part of its player-centric approach to game development. The studio has previously created popular multiplayer games such as MaskGun and Silly Royale, which have attracted over 80 million players worldwide. SuperGaming has also celebrated India-specific events like Diwali in its games and featured some of its prominent community members as in-game characters.
