Manga illustrator Toyotarou brought some really exciting news for the Dragon Ball fans. He revealed that the Dragon Ball Super manga series, which has been on an indefinite break for a few months now, will eventually return. Although the exact release date has not been announced yet, readers can expect to see Goku’s grand comeback in a few months.
Toyotarou Confirmed The Series’ Eventual Return
Toyotarou has been the illustrator of Akira Toriyama’s popular manga series Dragon Ball Super ever since it launched in 2015. After Toriyama’s unfortunate demise in March 2024, the series went on an indefinite hiatus. Chapter 103, which came out on March 20, is the latest chapter of the manga that fans can read. Due to the long absence, fans were worried whether new chapters would ever come out. Thankfully, Toyotarou put their worries to rest.
In the latest episode of the Weekly Dragon Ball News, Toyotarou made a surprise appearance alongside Victory Uchida. In the video, the manga illustrator revealed the ‘Goku’s Best Bout’ poll results. He also announced that the Dragon Ball Super manga will come back eventually and told fans they can look forward to a lot of “exciting battles.” Although Toriyama’s death was a monumental loss for the whole manga industry, fans were glad to learn that his legacy will continue with Super.
What Can Fans Expect From Dragon Ball Super Next?
The 103rd chapter of the manga, titled ‘Inheriting the Future’, focused on Gohan, Goku, and all the other Z warriors. They wanted to find out how powerful Gohan’s Beast form actually is. Safe to say, the friendly battles did not disappoint as we got to see some really cool transformations from not only Gohan and Goku but also Broly, who joined the sparring matches. In the end, Gohan proved that he was indeed one of the most powerful Saiyans as he was able to perfectly control his Beast Mode.

The group came back to Earth once again to pick up Gohan’s daughter, Pan, from school. It was a sweet and emotional chapter that focused on the bond between Goku and his family and friends. The upcoming updates will likely highlight more of Gohan’s power as the group gets ready to fight Frieza.
