Finally, the decade-long wait has come to an end with a surprise early release of the first GTA 6 trailer. Initially, the trailer was supposed to be out on Tuesday, December 5, at 09:00 am ET. However, a currently suspended X (formerly Twitter) account leaked the trailer, leading the Grand Theft Auto VI publishers to drop the trailer before the original schedule.

The first GTA 6 trailer has confirmed multiple rumors about the upcoming storyline, including the reveal of the first-ever female protagonist, Lucia, in the Grand Theft Auto series. In addition to the confirmation of a storyline based on ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ developers also unveiled the modern Vice City setting, where players will get to experience the Grand Theft Auto universe.
The First GTA 6 Trailer: The Grand Theft Auto V Successor To Be Out In 2025
In the first GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar Games confirmed the game’s release is set for 2025. However, the publishers didn’t provide any specific date of launch. Apart from the release details, the trailer revealed plenty of plot details centred around Lucia and her unnamed love interest. The couple is seen committing crimes around Vice City, as the trailer showcases a highly immersive world of GTA 6.
Regarding the platforms, a press release from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive Software on Monday, December 4, confirmed that the game will be arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, Grand Theft Auto VI’s availability on PC was not mentioned at launch. Thus, PC fans might get to access GTA 6 on a later release date.
Here’s what Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, was quoted saying about the next Grand Theft Auto amid the launch of the first trailer,
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences. We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
