Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night
- Release Date: April 7, 2024
- Studio: Doga Kobo
Brought to you by the same studio that animated the worldwide sensation OSHI NO KO, Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night looks like a deceptive slice-of-life anime with lots of drama, humor, and idols mixed in. The previews all point to another idol-themed story and we can’t wait.
Mission: Yozakura Family

Now that the blue-haired childhood friend finally got to marry the protagonist where else can the story go but action?
Re:Monster
- Release Date: April 2, 2024
- Studio: Studio Deen
A highly anticipated isekai title, Re:Monster is about a boy who’s reincarnated into the weakest species of goblin. However, he still retains all his memories from the real world. This, coupled with his special ability to consume and gain stats will eventually make him into a formidable monster. Those planning to watch this, be warned for there are gore and ecchi elements in the story.
Wind Breaker
- Release Date: April 2024
- Studio: CloverWorks
Think Tokyo Revengers but the protagonist is not lame. That’s the best pitch for Wind Breaker. The protagonist is unabashedly a delinquent hell-bent on fighting strong opponents. The action goes hard and follows the rule of cool so you can just turn your brain off and enjoy the rush with this one.
Go Go Loser Ranger
- Release Date: April 7, 2024
- Studio: Yostar Pictures
Power Rangers have been a part of all our childhoods and this one promises to be an adult, darker take on the heroic rangers trope. Think The Boys meets Power Rangers in an anime and you’ll be right on the money. The protagonist is actually a victim from the villain’s side and he infiltrates the group of “heroes” to uncover their ruse to the world and take them down for good. Of course, all rangers have their own agendas too.
Mechanical Arms
- Release Date: TBA
- Studio: TriF Studio
This show will remind the average cartoon fan about those days of Generator Rex and Parasyte: The Maxim- but since this is anime, you can expect the story to go ham and deliver some of the most hyped animation and fight scenes. The story is set in a world where alien relics invade their hosts’ arms which they can then use to fight and combat similar enemy aliens and opponents. The previews and teasers look clean so we all have high expectations from this one.
Lazarus
- Release Date: TBA
- Studio: Mappa
If the branding of Mappa’s animation wasn’t enough, this one made the headlines for having the John Wick action team involved in its production. If that still doesn’t float your boat, the man behind the likes of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, Shinichiro Watanabe is also working on this one. The teaser trailer looks clean, smooth, and haunting even though it’s just well-choreographed parkour scenes. Without another Jujutsu Kaisen this year, Lazarus and Ninja Kamui might just compete for the throne of best action and animation.
Suicide Squad Isekai
- Release Date: TBA
- Studio: Wit Studio
Warner Bros and Wit Studio have come together to collaborate on what might just be the most hyped isekai anime this year- apart from select sequels of course. The Suicide Squad is coming to anime and the team behind this wrote and worked on Re:Zero before so the bar is already sky high and we just hope it lives up to the insane hype. We’ll say this for now- the trailers haven’t disappointed.
Kaiju No. 8
- Release Date: April 13, 2024
- Studio: Production I.G.
Someone had to fill the empty space left by Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, and Hell’s Paradise and it looks like Kaiju No. 8 is our savior. This is the next big thing in Shonen Jump and it promises classic Shonen battle action tropes told in a more mature and nuanced way. Think Parasyte: The Maxim meets Attack on Titan and you’ll have this anime.
Dandadan
- Release Date: October 2024
- Studio: Science SARU
If you thought Chainsaw Man was unhinged, then you haven’t heard about Dandadan. Perhaps the most hyped new anime release among connoisseurs ever since the adaptation was announced, Dandadan is a strange story of two high schoolers dealing with the crazy and zany world they live in which is full of ghosts and aliens. Weird things happen. There’s nudity. And the action and animation for some scenes are sure to go off the rails. Be ready for the wildest ride with this one.
