Reflector Entertainment and Bandai Namco are set to introduce the first title in their expansive narrative universe. Unknown 9 Awakening is an action-adventure game built with Unreal Engine 5, featuring a female protagonist fighting a secret society. It was previously slated for a launch this summer but got delayed due to undisclosed reasons. Given that Bandai has fixed an Unknown 9 Awakening release date, the finishing touches to the product are seemingly completed.
Official Unknown 9 Awakening Release Date And Pre-Orders
October 18, 2024, is the official Unknown 9 Awakening release date as announced during Gamescom 2024. It will be available on both last-gen and current-gen consoles, namely PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, apart from a release on PC via Steam. The developers dropped a new live action trailer to disclose the launch and subsequently opened the pre-orders.
Three Unknown 9 Awakening pre-order editions are available. Unfortunately, neither of the editions provides early access. Those who pre-order Unknown 9 will get exclusive Haroona Quaestor DLC alongside the base game on the desired platform as per the official news and listings.
The Standard Edition of Unknown 9 Awakening costs $49.99/₹2999 and includes the base game as well as the Haroona Quaestor DLC. It includes the Quaestor outfit for Haroona with alternative colors and textures, a bonus journal sleeve, and unlocks two new combat animations.
Unknown 9 Awakening Deluxe Edition, tagged $59.99/₹3499, includes the base game, Quaestor pack, and three other packs namely Aviator, Mercenary, and Shadow cosmetic DLCs. As such, players get a total of four themed outfits with switchable colors and textures, four bonus journal sleeves, and eight alternative attack animations.
Exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store, the Collector’s Edition of Unknown 9 Awakening is priced at $109.99. It includes all four cosmetic DLCs – Quaestor, Aviator, Mercenary, and Shadow – and exclusive physical items. The items include Haroona’s amulet, a 96-page artbook with exclusive illustrations and lore, a Leap Year Society membership coin, and a metal game case.

Unknown 9 Awakening release date was disclosed with a Live Action Trailer featuring Anya Chalotra in the role of Haroona. Most popular for her role as Jennifer Ashman in Wanderlust and Yennefer of Vengerberg in Netflix’s The Witcher series, the actress brings the main character to life with her commendable performance and line delivery.
Haroona in Unknown 9 is a Quaestor, a powerful woman with the ability to draw power from a mysterious parallel dimension called Fold. During her quest for more knowledge about the Fold, she harnesses her powers, gradually mastering them, and defeats enemies called the Ascendants. The protagonist has the power to shape the world’s future.
Combat in Unknown 9 Awakening features stealth and Umbric moves. She has a ‘Shroud’ ability that allows her to creep behind enemies and swiftly eliminate them.
