The first patch in Episode 8 Act 1 has brought a few significant changes in the Valorant 8.0 gun tier list. Patch 8.0 introduced Outlaw, a double-barreled semi-auto sniper rifle, which can shoot high-impact rounds but has the unfortunate disadvantage of a long reload time. In this tier list, we will see how the new sniper rifle fares against the other meta weapons.
Valorant is a highly competitive shooting game by RIOT. Similar to other popular titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty, it is imperative to know which guns can be used with ease, possess high damage, and are most likely to win in a round of equal bullet exchanges.
Valorant 8.0 Gun Tier List: All Tiers Explained
The arrival of Outlaw has increased the number of guns in Valorant to 18. Players also have a Knife which they can use by switching their weapons after using the mouse scroll. Here is a complete list of guns available in the game as of Episode 8 Act 1:-
- Sidearms – Classic, Shorty, Frenzy, Ghost, Sheriff
- Submachine Guns – Stinger, Spectre
- Shotguns – Bucky, Judge
- Rifles – Bulldog, Guardian, Phantom, Vandal
- Sniper Rifles – Outlaw, Marshal, Operator
- Machine Guns – Ares, Odin
Based on their stability, power, and usage on every Map, we have ranked the weapons in the Valorant 8.0 gun tier list into four different categories:-
- S-Tier: The best weapons in Valorant. We highly recommend using these guns on any Map.
- A-Tier: These weapons have good utility but are slightly less capable than S-tier guns.
- B-Tier: Guns in this category can be serviceable but are outclassed by other weapons.
- C-Tier: C-tier weapons in the Valorant 8.0 gun tier list must be avoided.
As players may know, the multiplayer matches begin with each team having Credits to buy sidearms and Light Armor. They can increase their Credits by eliminating enemies and winning matches. Use these Credits sensibly and buy the best armor, throwables, and weapons.
S-Tier in Valorant 8.0 Gun Tier List
- Vandal: An automatic rifle, Vandal has retained its position as the top-tier gun because of its ability to eliminate an enemy with a single headshot (160 damage regardless of range).
- Phantom: Phantom must be used by starters because of its low recoil. It also functions as a classic AR during sprays, dealing slightly less headshot damage than Vandal, but having better accessibility.
- Operator: The costliest sniper in the game, the Operator deals a surreal 250 damage to the head and 150 damage to the body. Its bullets can even penetrate through walls.
- Ghost: Ghost is a sidearm that is super effective against long-range enemies. A silencer can be equipped in the gun so that the shots don’t reveal your position to the enemy.
A-Tier in Valorant 8.0 Gun Tier List
- Outlaw: As a sniper, Outlaw is better than Marshal. It can eliminate enemies with Light Armor in a single shot while a headshot can deal 238 damage (instant kill).
- Marshal: Marshal’s effectiveness is in its cheap price of 950 Credits. Effective in the early rounds, it can be used by avid sniper players for headshot kills before switching to Outlaw or Operator.
- Sheriff – Sheriff is a good sidearm revolver. Its high penetration and extra reserve magazine make it useful for spamming for wallbangs.
- Spectre – Spectre is a great SMG for close combat and has better accuracy than the Stinger SMG.
- Guardian – Guardian is best in short-range combat because it has a high recoil that is difficult to manage for most Valorant players.
- Frenzy – This sidearm’s high rate-of-fire can be difficult to control so fire it in burst rounds.
B-Tier in Valorant 8.0 Gun Tier List
- Judge – Judge is an automatic shotgun that has a better rate-of-fire than Bucky but is only effective in close-quarters combat.
- Ares – Ares is a machine gun that gets more accuracy when repeatedly fired. However, the recoil is still difficult to handle.
- Odin – Odin has a higher damage, fire rate, and initial accuracy compared to Ares. Take your pick.
- Bulldog – Possessing both Auto and Burst fire, Bulldog is nonetheless outmatched by other ARs.
C-Tier in Valorant 8.0 Gun Tier List
- Shorty – Long-range options are usually better when picking sidearms.
- Classic – A classic handgun with no specialties.
- Bucky – Severely outmatched by its fellow shotgun, Judge.
- Stinger – Spectre is a better alternative.

Please note that some of the low-tier guns might suit a player’s gameplay or could be super effective depending on the situation and a player’s prowess. We recommend using each weapon listed in the Valorant Gun Tier List and picking up your favorite ones to try in different modes.
