VALORANT fans have been anticipating the debut of Agent 26 for quite some time now, while Riot Games has dropped two teasers ahead of the official reveal. A recent announcement from Riot Games has revealed that VALORANT Agent 26 will be named ‘Vyse.’ She will be the sixth Sentinel agent in VALORANT, with the previous one being Deadlock. VALORANT Agent Vyse Release Date
VALORANT fans saw Agent 25 ‘Clove’ debuting with Episode Eight Act 2 in March 2024, following a gameplay showcase at VCT Masters Madrid. The last agent arrived almost five months back, and it is about time Vyse made her way to the game with the upcoming patch update for VALORANT Episode 9 Act 2. The patch 9.04 is scheduled to roll out on August 27 (or 28, depending on the region), and the new agent will debut the following day, i.e., on August 28 (or 29).
VALORANT Agent Vyse Role, Abilities, & More
As mentioned earlier, VALORANT agent Vyse will be the sixth Sentinel. Talking about the goals and inspirations behind her design, Kevin Meier, Game Designer at Riot Games, shared some insights as he revealed,
“For Vyse, we wanted to create a Sentinel that had a solution to space taking duelists in a way that wasn’t primarily stall-oriented. Someone who could punish aggressive players that dove in recklessly. We landed on Shear early in development, then built out from there. It was the perfect fit for an agent who wants to separate players from their support systems.”
He added,
“During development, we often thought of Vyse setups like a Spider Web -allowing players to enter the web, but delivering a killing blow when stuck. Once players are isolated Vyse needed a tool to capitalize on that moment, a 1-2 punch to punish the reckless. Arc Rose was created around that thought, enabling her to self-capitalize in ways that other Sentinels may not be able to.”
VALORANT agent Vyse has basic abilities named Arc Rose and Shear. At the same time, her signature and ultimate skills have been named Razorvune and Steel Garden. One can use her abilities to ‘isolate, trap, and disarm’ opponents with the use of liquid metal. Here’s a look at what each of her abilities has to offer:
- Arc Rose – EQUIP an Arc Rose. Target a surface and FIRE to place a stealthed Arc Rose, or ALT Fire to place the Arc Rose through it. REUSE to blind all players looking at it. This ability can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED.
- Shear – EQUIP filaments of liquid metal. FIRE to place a hidden wall trap. When an enemy crosses, an indestructible wall bursts from the ground behind them. The wall lasts for a brief time before dissipating.
- Razorvine – EQUIP a nest of liquid metal. FIRE to launch. Upon landing, the nest becomes invisible. When ACTIVATED, it sprawls out into a large razorvine nest, which slows and damages all players who move through it.
- (ULT) Steel Garden – EQUIP a bramble of liquid metal. FIRE to send the metal erupting from you as a torrent of metal thorns, JAMMING enemy primary weapons after a brief windup.
For the uninitiated, Agent 26 was unveiled at the beginning of VALORANT Champions 2024 Finals Weekend on August 23 (KST).
