A look at the Korean Split 1
Riot Games and World Cyber Games organised the VALORANT Challengers 2023: Korea Split 1 which is an online/offline tournament. The tournament is located in South Korea and holds a prize pool of ₩75,000,000. The tournament went underway on the 26th of January with a total of 8 teams. The tournament will go on till the 25th of February. It consists of a two-stage format which includes the Regular League and the Playoffs. The Regular Season is going on and has reached Week 3 Matchday 4. A total of four games were played as two match days are now over. In this article, you will get the recaps of Matchday 3 and Matchday 4 which were played on 2nd February and 3rd February.
About the Regular League
The Regular League has a total of 8 teams who all are competing in a Double Round Robin format with all matches of best of 3 games. The teams who will secure the top 6 placements will qualify for the playoffs.
A recap of the Matchday 3
Yesterday 2nd of February gave a total of two matches. The first game was Maru Gaming vs OP.GG SPORTS. And the second game that was played was Nongshim RedForce vs Rio Company.
Maru Gaming vs OP.GG SPORTS
(Bo3 score: 2-1)
- Breeze Map – Maru Gaming picked Skye, Jett, Cypher, Sova and Viper. OP.GG SPORTS picked Jett, Cypher, Sova, Skye and Viper. The Agent lines remained the same; First half score remained 4-8 in favour of OP.GG SPORTS but the second-half score came out as 6-5. OP.GG SPORTS won the game by 10-13 scores.
- Haven Map – Agent lineup for Maru Gaming included Breach, Jett, Killjoy, Fade and Omen. OP.GG SPORTS picked Jett, Killjoy, Sova, Breach and Omen. Maru Gaming players were ruthless enough and 10-2 in the First-Half and later they made it 3-2 in the second half and won the game by 13-4.
- Pearl Map – Maru Gaming’s Agent lineup was Fade, KAY/O, Viper, Raze and Astra.
OP.GG SPORTS picked Jett, Killjoy, Fade, Breach and Astra. Maru Gaming again dominated the game and made it 10-2 in the first half and a flawless 3-0 second-half display led it to 13-2.
Nongshim RedForce vs Rio Company

- Haven Map – Nongshim RedForce picked Fade, Omen, Raze, Killjoy and Breach. Rio Company picked Breach, Killjoy, Jett, Fade and Omen. First half score remained 6-6, Rio Company made it 4-7 in the second half and won the game by a 10-13 finish.
- Fracture Map – Nongshim RedForce’s Agents were Fade, Astra, Raze, Cypher and Viper. While Rio Company went ahead with Raze, Fade, Neon, Breach and Brimstone. Rio Company led the first half with a score of 4-8 and later a 0-5 second-half finish led them to a victory by 4-13.

A total of 2 matches were played today. The first game was Dplus vs CNJ esports and the second game was Shadow Corporation vs World Game Star.
