Highlights:
* Ranked for Valorant Console has requirements and restrictions similar to that of the PC version.
* New maps for Ranked and other game modes will be added in future updates.
As a part of Patch 9.0, Valorant Console ranked mode was launched for beta testers on June 25, 2024. It is a big step for the growth of the first-person tactical shooter on current-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Since it won’t be a cross-platform game that includes PC gamers, the competition on consoles will be fair and intense as ever.
Requirements & Restrictions For Ranked Mode In Valorant Console
Achieving Account Level 10 is the only requirement to unlock Valorant Console Ranked. Players can gain Experience Points (XP) by completing daily missions and by regularly playing and finishing different game modes. Valorant Console Beta launched with a limited number of modes as compared to the PC version, featuring only Unrated, Ranked, SwiftPlay, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Custom Games.
Like the PC version, Valorant Console Beta disallows teams of four players for Ranked play. “It tends to leave the remaining solo queue player on the team with a less-than-desirable experience” according to RIOT. That said, teams of 2/3/5 players are allowed.
Party Restrictions in Valorant Console are also similar to the PC version of the game. Players have to be at a certain rank to play Competitive with their friends:-
Minimum Rank in Party | Highest Rank in Party |
Iron and Bronze | Silver |
Silver | Gold |
Gold | Platinum |
Platinum | Diamond |
Diamond | Ascendant |
Ascendant | Immortal |
Immortal | Radiant |
Placement Matches In Valorant Console Ranked Mode
Similar to the PC version, players will be assigned a rank in the Valorant Console ranked mode after playing a few Placement Matches. However, Derek Lee of RIOT Games mentioned in a post that there will be a “hidden rank that is used to enforce rank restrictions for parties.”
The hidden rank is calculated via Match Making Rating (MMR) when players begin their climb to Account Level 10 to unlock the Competitive mode. If players are matched with skilled players during the Unranked games, manage to win them, and then perform exceptionally well in the Placement Matches, they can ignore the Bronze tier and jump to Silver or Gold in Ranked.
Valorant Console ranked mode can be played on all available maps in the beta, which includes Ascent, Bind, Haven, Sunset, and the new Abyss map which was teased in Valorant Episode 8. Lotus and Icebox Maps will arrive in future updates.
Before hitting the Competitive scenes of the FPS shooter, players must learn about the meta characters in Valorant. The balance changes brought with each update nerfs and buffs Agents thereby changing the worth of their abilities in the game.
