VALORANT Episode 9 Act 2 is almost here, as Riot Games is gearing up to roll-out a significant content update with patch 9.04. Besides the all-new Battle Pass and Agent 26 ‘Vyse,’ the developers have officially unveiled the forthcoming VALORANT Nocturnum bundle, which will soon be available in the in-game Store. VALORANT Nocturnum Bundle Release Date & Theme
The Nocturnum skinline will debut in VALORANT Episode 9 Act 2, once the Store resets. According to the in-game timer, the Store will reset on August 29 (or 30 based on players’ time zones & regions), two days after patch 9.04 has been rolled out. Currently, Dreamwings and Champions 2024 bundles are available in the Store.
The skinline will have five weapons alongside some other accessories, with a dark fantasy theme and transformative elements. Here’s what Laura Baltzer, Product Manager at Riot Games, was quoted saying about the design goals for the VALORANT Nocturnum bundle:
“We wanted to make a skin that was a balance of terror and beauty. The finisher probably brings these two things together the most. When you are able to complete the Nocturnum weapon ritual and your finisher is transformed, we hope that players feel that spookiness but that they feel transported to a magical, if a bit terrifying, world.”
Laura also commented on the inspirations and concepts that Riot Games wanted to convey with the VALORANT Nocturnum bundle, as she said,
“Transformation was a really big aspect and inspiration for this skinline. There are two parts of the experience that we ended up landing on for this transformation: the finisher and the melee. The finisher transforms from one state to another once the requirements are met (getting a kill on each member of the enemy team) and we thought this was a really cool way to emphasize this ritualistic aspect of the skinline.”
She added,
“The melee also leans into this magical and transformative power just in a different way–the melee you can transform at will by using the inspect. We really liked that this felt very thematically appropriate for the skinline; it ends up making the experience feel very powerful and magical.”
VALORANT Nocturnum Bundle Price & Skins
VALORANT Nocturnum bundle’s price is 8,700 VP and players will get the following weapon skins and accessories with it:
- Weapons
- Melee (Transforms between Scythe and Dagger)
- Phantom
- Classic
- Bulldog
- Marshal
- Accessories
- One Player Card
- One Gun Buddy
- One Spray
All weapons, including the Melee, will have three variants — Black, Blue, and Yellow. The Melee will have two levels, while weapons will be upgradable up to four levels. The weapon level upgrades will offer custom features like firing sounds, muzzle flash visual effects, kill banners, finishers, reload animations, and more. At the same time, at Level 2, players will get experience the transformative effects on Melee, which will allow them to switch between Dagger and Scythe.
