Valorant developers announce new competitive-based mode Premier
Riot Games, the Valorant developers, recently announced their new competitive-based system, Premier. It is a new game mode with the primary objective of connecting the game and esports. The news surfaced on Twitter following the post from Valorant unveiling the release date of the new mode. According to the game director Andy Ho, the mode will be available for worldwide testing as it comes with Episode 6 Act III. The Global open beta will allow the players to test the new mode where they need to get their teams and battle throughout the week over designated maps and can start their journey of becoming a pro. With a few months to go, the Beta testing comes soon for the players.
Premier: the new mode
As stated above, the new game mode is a competitive-based system, which requires building a team with a stack of five players. They will all compete on the designated maps in weekly matches. This new mode, “Premier”, will help players prepare their spot for a playoff tournament where they will compete to get crowned as the top team of their skill division at the end of the season. The worldwide beta testing will commence soon as Andy Ho, the Valorant game director, provided the update. The first thing that players need to do is create their own team, choose their 5-Man roster, and play in the tournament.
Previously, the new mode was tested on the Brazilian servers as a part of the Alpha testing, while now it is available for global beta testing. It allows players to qualify for the Valorant Challenger Leagues and other international leagues and eliminates the previously known open qualifiers.
The new mode and its connection with Esports
Well, as it is a new game mode, many might wonder why it has a link with esports. The Head of Valorant Esports, Leo Faria, clarified it further and said that the mode allows players to participate in the regional leagues. There will be no more open qualifiers, as players will directly compete against the pros after their placements. This will give them a spot in the Challenger leagues, and later, they will get a chance to compete for the glory of Valorant Champions.
Conclusion
Hence, this mode will begin a new chapter in the game, as there will be no more qualifier tournaments. New players will get their way with their teams in the esports scenario, and the execution of Riot Games’ in-game circuit for a path to Valorant Champions will be a success. It will arrive with Episode 6 Act III, which fans can expect to come in a couple of months. Read more news on Valorant.
