Fans at VCT LOCK//IN enjoy the final quarterfinal actions
The VCT LOCK//IN concluded its remaining quarterfinal fixtures yesterday 27th of January. A total of 32 teams started the action; however, it now came down to only four. Fans witnessed entertaining fixtures, with both games having flawless victories. As the Quarterfinal actions concluded, 4 teams will now face each other in the Semifinals, starting on the 2nd of March. NAVI maintained an excellent streak as flawless victories came to the Semifinals. Fnatic also had a fantastic run, defeating 100 Thieves in their Quarterfinal encounters. Now, these 4 remaining teams will compete for the lion’s share of the whopping prize pool of $500,000.
Highlights of the remaining quarter-final fixtures
The games that lined up yesterday were NAVI vs Leviatan and 100 Thieves vs Fnatic. The matches were all best of 3 series, and both the winning teams, mainly NAVI and Fnatic, enjoyed their dominant performances and registered flawless 2-0 victories. NAVI’s Shao and Fnatic’s Derke were exceptional for their teams as they produced a strong showing and led their respective teams to the next stage. Game 1: Natus Vincere vs Leviatan
The map veto phase included the Fracture chosen by NAVI and Ascent chosen by Leviatan. The Decider map was Pearl. With this, let’s see what happened in the games.
Map 1: The game started with a pace as both teams met each other on the Ascent map. NAVI was on the defending side, and Leviatan were attacking. cNed picked up two quick kills on B Market with Jett in the pistol round and gave his team a lead. However, from the 5th round, Levitan players were extremely good with their attacks, and their good teamplay gave them a lead of 3-6. NAVI was not letting things go as they had a quick turnaround. Shao was brilliant with Fade and with an ace in the 11th round and levelled the score by 6-6 in the first half. The second-half score ended 7-4, and NAVI’s Shao drew the last blood to secure the win by 13-10.
Map 2: The game was on the Fracture map, and NAVI players were ruthless. The first half was one-sided, as NAVI led 11-1. The second half of the game was easy enough as NAVI players had an excellent eco-round and eliminated their opponents. NAVI’s Zyppan drew the last blood on the B tower, making it a 12-2 win. The first half was devastating for Leviatan as they were not well organised.
Game 2: 100 Thieves vs Fnatic
Map veto for the game included Fracture and Icebox, and Decider was Lotus.
Map 1: The game began on the fracture map, and Fnatic players had a proper site execution. They were very well organised and made it a good lead. Chronicle with Breach and Leo with Fade was brilliant and gave a lead to the team by 1-11 in the first half. It was a total team game, and Fnatic made it a 1-13 victory.
Map 2: The second map was Icebox, and Fnatic was again excellent with their play. The first-half score remained, Chronicle turned into a battle, Sage and Derke with Jett were excellent and gave a lead by 2-10 in the first half. However, 100 Thieves began their comeback streak with Asuna having exceptional gameplay with Sage. Derke, with Jett, was ruthless and drew the last blood with a short kill. Derek accumulated a total of 39 kills and dominated the Icebox map.
Conclusion
