Gamers will be back in the role of Lieutenant Titus in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. A sequel to the hit 2011 game, Saber Interactive’s upcoming third-person shooter will include the usual hack-and-slash finishes along with a new co-op campaign mode.
Picking up from where it left off, Space Marine 2 will require Titus to defeat hordes of aliens to assist Imperium. This will be a last-ditch effort to prove his innocence after he was convicted of heresy for using ‘unholy assistance’ in his battle with the forces of Chaos.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Release Date & Platforms
According to the official website of Focus Entertainment, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 will be released in winter 2023. The official gameplay trailer mentioned that the beloved sequel would be released this year but a timeline was only given during the Summer Game Fest.
Space Marine 2 will be available on current-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/Series S as well as PC. Pre-order now to a Collector’s Case, an 8.25 x 6.7″ resin statue of Lieutenant Titus fighting a Tyranid, a 172-page hardcover art book, a Warhammer-themed steelbook, and the Macragge’s Chosen DLC with the base game.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Features
Retaining the parry system and execution styles from its predecessor, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 will also include fan-favorite bombastic weapons like the rocket launcher Bolters, the Meltagun, and the signature Chainsaw for blood-shedding finishes. These can be used to counter new enemies such as the Tyranids, creatures who attack in swarms and fast in their approach.
Notching its mayhem, Space Marine 2 will also feature a three-player co-op campaign. Players can either team up with their friends or AI teammates. Thanks to its cross-platform availability, PC or PlayStation users can ally themselves with Xbox users to become the heroes of the Fourth Tyranid War.
It has been confirmed that Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 will feature new marine suits and melee and gun weapons.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Leaks
There haven’t been many leaks for Space Marine 2, given that everything has been revealed for the upcoming game. Rumors about the game debuting on PS4 are almost none because the last-gen console probably won’t be able to handle the graphic qualities and massive world of Warhammer SM 2. However, one of the biggest news coming directly from the official website is PvP options for the game.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 previously advertised 3-player co-op campaigns along with “PvE and PvP modes.” The latter half has since been deleted but Reddit users are sure that player versus player competitions is in planning or in the beta phase. Check out the graphic from a few months ago below:
The original Space Marine released in 2011 had fun competitive scenes with many players grinding for hours to bulk up their defense stats. It remains to be seen if Space Marine 2 follows in its footsteps.
