Is COD Mobile shutting down in 2024? The much-awaited Call of Duty title, Warzone Mobile, has finally launched globally on Thursday, March 21, 2024. However the arrival of the Call of Duty game has confused many around the future of COD Mobile, which has been receiving regular content updates since its launch in 2019. In today’s article, fans learn more about the future of Call of Duty: Mobile in 2024, especially after Warzone Mobile’s global launch.
Warzone Mobile Global Launch: Is COD Mobile Shutting Down In 2024?
Due to various basic similarities in both Call of Duty games — Warzone Mobile and COD Mobile — it is understandable for many to consider one as the other’s replacement. However, Call of Duty: Mobile developers have emphasized that the game will continue to receive new content in 2024 without any changes to the ‘breadth of content’ in the seasonal updates.
The response on the roll-out of new content and updates came after many fans were curious about COD Mobile’s future post the sudden exclusion of Alcatraz and Shoot House from the in-game map pools. Interestingly, Shoot House is also a part of Warzone Mobile, which solidified the fear for many Call of Duty: Mobile users. Here’s what COD Mobile devs tweeted ahead of Season 3:
“Call of Duty®: Mobile will continue to get new content every season and there are no plans to change the breadth of content we bring to COD:M players. Stay tuned for more info on exciting new content we have coming this year!”
Fortunately, COD Mobile is not shutting down in 2024. Although WZ Mobile might emerge as a Battle Royale alternative, Call of Duty: Mobile is likely to continue as multiplayer-centric title with an array of MP maps, guns, and modes adopted from other COD games. Interestingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone (on PC & Console) will have a cross-progression with the latter’s mobile variant.
Where And How To Download COD Mobile & Warzone Mobile?
Call of Duty: Mobile and Warzone Mobile (after March 21) are available to download via Google Play and Apple App Store. Both Call of Duty games are free-to-play, but offers many purchasable collectibles via store, that players can grab via COD Points. WZ Mobile, due to its shared progression with MW3 and Warzone, also offers many in-game cosmetics that players can use across platforms and titles.
