September 2024 is bringing an all-new ‘Legend of Zelda’ adventure for the fans of the popular franchise. The latest installment becomes the first-ever mainline title in the series to portray Zelda as the main protagonist. Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series, emphasized the dev team’s desire ‘to create a new gameplay style that breaks conventions’ seen in past titles ‘with a top-down approach.’ The ‘echoes’ are among the new gameplay elements that will be seen in the upcoming Zelda game as one of the crucial aspects. What Are The Echoes In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?
Echoes will be the ‘imitation’ abilities that will be a crucial part of Zelda’s journey across Hyrule in ‘Echoes of Wisdom,’ after Link and many other people have disappeared due to strange rifts. Zelda will be able to learn echoes throughout her journey, which will let her solve puzzles or fight off the enemies.
What Is The Origin Of Echoes?
In Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Zelda will encounter mysterious fairy Tri at the beginning of her adventure. The fairy will grant her a staff named Tri Rod, which will allow her to learn echoes.
How To Learn Echoes And Use Them?
Once Princess Zelda has acquired Tri Rod, she can start learning echoes. There is a vast variety of echoes, like Table Echo which will allow her to imitate a table she found. To learn that specific echo, Zelda must approach a table and wave the Tri Rod at it to imitate it. Once learned, she can recreate the table (or any other echo she learnt) whenever she wants.
Similarly, Zelda can recreate wooden boxes, old beds, water blocks, decorative shrubs, trampolines, and many other objects, which will allow her to solve various puzzles along her journey. She can also learn to imitate monsters, and use their echoes during a fight. Players can press the [ZR] button to learn an echo and use [Y] to use it in the game.

The ability to learn an echo will depend on the number of triangles behind Tri’s head. In addition to that, each echo will have a different cost of learning.
