Ever since mangaka Gege Akutami announced that Shinjuku Showdown is the final story arc of his popular manga, the internet has been abuzz with fan theories. As the battle against Sukuna seems to be reaching its climax, people are eager to see how Jujutsu Kaisen ends. Fans have a lot of expectations for the final stretch of the story, and some of them might come true.
A Few Fan-Favorite Characters Might Make A Comeback
Although JJK is notorious for killing off beloved characters, people are still hopeful about some of them returning to the battle eventually. Nanami, Nobara, Gojo, and Choso are all confirmed to be dead, but we don’t yet know the fate of characters such as Higuruma and Kusakabe, who were fatally injured. Fans are especially excited about the return of Hakari Kinji, who has been fighting Sukuna’s lackey Uraume behind the scenes for quite some time now.

However, all of this is mere speculation at this point because the main focus of the narrative remains firmly on Yuji’s one-on-one clash with Sukuna.
Yuji’s Domain Expansion Might Be The Start Of The End Of Jujutsu Kaisen Manga
As mentioned earlier, the current arc is the final part of this legendary manga series. In chapter 264, the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, finally unleashed his Domain Expansion, which is the final form of any sorcerer’s Cursed Technique. In chapter 265, he had a long talk with Sukuna inside this Domain. Still, the powers of this Domain remain unknown to the readers. We will likely see the beginning of another head-to-head fight between Yuji and Sukuna in this Domain soon, which will decide the fate of the world and the other sorcerers.
Fans are expecting Yuji to win this tussle, which will be brutal and dangerous for the protagonist. However, since everything has been leading up to this moment, there is no way for Itadori to avoid the confrontation. If he is able to overpower Sukuna, then he might also free Megumi, who has been trapped inside his body with The King of Curses since the end of the Culling Games. Since all of Yuji’s hits land on the barrier between Megumi and Sukuna’s souls, he might succeed in separating them in his Domain, a place where all his attacks are bound to reach the target.
Another important part of the story is Master Tengen. As you might already know, Kenjaku had previously planned to merge all of humanity with Tengen, creating a superior race with unpredictable cursed powers. But the immortal Tengen is now in Sukuna’s possession and the villain might just begin the merger if he feels cornered by Itadori. If that happens, then the future of humanity will change for the worse. Due to the dark nature of this shonen manga, there is a chance that it will end on a sinister and despairing note. But fans are still hopeful about Yuji putting a stop to all of Sukuna’s nefarious intentions inside his Domain. Readers are also eager to see how Yuji uses this newly unlocked ability to corner Sukuna as this is a technique he has never used before.
