The Chinese best against the 2nd best South American team
PSG.LGD, the chinese region champion squad will compete against Evil Geniuses. The team successfully completed the DPC tour and achieved the top spot in their respective region. Evil Geniuses, the South American team will compete as the second-placed team in their region. Well, both teams are strong competitors for each other and will surely give a tough fight in the opening best of 2 game series. PSG.LGD played well in the TI11 and delivered top performance in decisive games however, they lost against regional counterpart Team Aster and finished 5th-6th in the tournament. The current Evil Geniuses squad has some good performers as they have good Hero win rate performance.
The current run of the teams
PSG.LGD remained a dominant force in the Chinese region, and the team remained on top with a win/loss record of 6-1 in DPC China 2023 Division I. They lost only one match and that too against the Knights. PSG.LGD has shown some great success in the decisive games, The team finished 5th in The International 2022. However, the team underwent some recent roster changes and the current roster may be young but can be a good competitor.
Evil Geniuses recently changed their roster and moved to a completely new region. This perfectly fits their plan ahead of the clash. From North America, the team moved to its neighbouring region South America. The team finished second in the DPC SA 2023 Division I and finished second with a score of 6-1. Against beastcoast only, they lost the game.
Prediction of their clash
From the current win run, both teams are looking strong enough, it’s hard to predict how the teams will play. As it is a best of 2 game series, it may end up being a draw with 1-1 each but mostly, Evil Geniuses might have an upper hand on PSG.LGD with their regional advantage. Though nothing confirmed as of yet, the game will tell what will happen. To learn more about the fixtures visit our previous article on Lima Major.
