What We Know About The Mysterious Character In One Piece Chapter 1121
The mysterious character in One Piece Chapter 1121 appears only as a silhouette carrying a sword at the bottom. Based on the double-page spread, fans speculate he’s either one of the defectors of previous organizations like Aokiji or he’s one of the God’s Knights which is an entirely new faction we know nothing about except that it is led by Figarland Garling- the previous King of God’s Valley and a member of Shanks’ bloodline.
That said, Oda is notorious for leaving hints and foreshadowing that might hint at his true identity. In this case, the defining feature of this mystery man is his sword which closely resembles Shank’s signature weapon Gryphon which is a Meito Grade Supreme Blade- the highest quality of blades in the One Piece world. Both the Gryphon and this mystery sword have the same hilt guard and incidentally, it also resembles the sword carried by Garling. Read on, as we discuss the most popular theory about the mysterious character in One Piece Chapter 1121.
The Mysterious Character In One Piece Chapter 1121 Is Related To Shanks
Most theories about this silhouette agree that this mysterious character in One Piece Chapter 1121 is somehow related to Shanks. Many say he’s Shanks’ twin citing the similar sword guards which is shared by all Figarland Family members and the fact that the man who met the Gorosei in their hall in the Reverie Arc was never actually referred to as Shanks or even a pirate.
We didn’t actually see the full face of the man who met the Gorosei in their hall and while he did look like Shanks from the left side, his ride side was cloaked and we didn’t even see Shanks’ iconic 3 scars depicted in that image. According to a previous SBS question a couple of years ago, a fan had also asked Oda if Shanks had a brother and Oda refused to answer that question- which is again telling and might prove this theory correct.
While it’s still debatable whether this man is the twin brother of Shanks, he’s definitely a member of the Figarland Family and is likely related to Shanks in one way or another. Of course, at the end of the day, all of this is speculation and we can figure out his identity later as in the next chapter we’ll find out if the Gorosei are really Devil Fruit users.
