Wuthering Waves Version 1.1 rolled out for all devices on June 28 after a seven-hour server maintenance. The update introduced new echoes, characters, and events alongside much-needed QoL improvements. Upcoming Playable Resonators Based On Wuthering Waves 1.2 Leaks
After the pre-downloads opened for the Wuthering Waves 1.1 update, Reddit user CTheng (courtesy of Donut) revealed that new special effects have been added to the game which potentially highlights the upcoming playable Resonators in 1.2 Convenes. To justify the statement, they shared game logs mentioning the two characters’ skill audios.
According to the latest Wuthering Waves 1.2 leaks, Xiangli Yao and Zhezhi are set to appear in the Covenes. Xiangli Yao is the Chief Researcher at Huaxu Academy in Jinzhou who can also be found in the profiles of Baizhi and Taoqi. On the other hand, Zhezhi is a completely new character. Players may get information about the latter in the 1.1 version.
As stated by Donut, who has been a reliable leaker so far, SFX of the two Resonators was added in the 1.1 version so they are expected to arrive soon, possibly in the next update.
Given that both Xiangli Yao and Zhezhi are new Resonators, they are expected to arrive in the Featured Resonator Covenes following the launch of Wuthering Waves 1.2. A previous Wuthering Waves 1.1 leak claimed Yao would use his prosthetic arms in one of his skills and would use dual pistols for his attacks.
Audio Effects For Zhezhi Hints At Glacio Attacks
Although there is no information on Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves, a Reddit post by KarlSQuent has demystified the character. The sound effects for the Resonator hint that Zhezhi will deal Glacio damage with her attacks. If one listens carefully, the sounds made from attacks after the Resonance Liberation is similar to Sanhua’s, the 4-star Resonator.
In the case of Zhezhi turning out to be a Glacio Resonator, they will join Baizhi, Linyang, and Sanhua. Reddit fans believe Zhezhi will use a Broadblade weapon based on the intensity of her attacks highlighted by the sound effects.

Drip marketing for Wuthering Waves 1.2 is speculated to begin at the end of July, probably after Jinhsi’s Featured Resonator Convene ends in the game. The Magistrate of Jinzhou is a powerful DPS character but players need to equip Jinhsi with her signature Wuthering Waves weapon.
